His diet today is mostly fruit and natural things. We don't feed our animals candy, thats for us. He still gets them from time to time as a treat.

It always makes me feel bad when I read about former 'owners' in their best intentions more or less shortening their charges' lifespans through an uninformed diet.

Well, keeping an animal like that as a pet is not a good choice for the animal to start with.
