'John’s trip'
“Oh no… it can’t be possible, I swore I checked the tank before leaving…” John said to himself after seeing that his car run out of fuel; he was going to another city to visit a cousin. He picked up his cellphone to see a map for the nearest gas station but there was no signal.
“Of course…” John sighed and looked around. Not too far away, he could see a big house near the road. “Maybe they could help me” John thought as he walked towards the house, and five minutes later, a little raindrop landed on his muzzle. “You’ve got to be kidding me”, The husky said and ran to the house and when he reached the front door, it started raining cats and dogs. He knocked on the door and seconds later, it opened slowly and a young tabby cat around his age, wearing a butler uniform greeted him in a friendly manner.
“Good evening, what can I do for you?” The butler said with a calm voice and smiling to the stranger on his door.
“Well… you see… my name is John and my car ran out of fuel over there and I have no signal on my phone so… could you please let me use your phone to call a tow truck?” the husky said, looking at the butler.
“Oh of course, please come in” The butler responded as he does a small bow and steps aside so the husky can come in, who was amazed by the luxury of the house.
“It’s like a small mansion…” John said to himself as he walked to the nearest phone, looking at all the expensive decoration. He used the phone and called the tow service; they told him that they would pick him up in about 1 hour.
“Well, they’ll be here in an hour, so I guess I’ll go back to my car and wait there, sorry for being a burden and thanks for your help” John said to the butler as he looked outside the window.
“Oh there’s nothing to apologize for, accidents happens when you least expect them.” The butler responded walking to the dining room, “Now, you’re free to wait here and eat dinner if you wish.”
“Thanks, but I don’t wanna be a burden”, John answered a bit uncomfortable, since it was his first time in a house like that. He felt out of place, especially since he was served by a butler.
“Please don’t worry about it young mister, it is no burden, I’m sure you’ll enjoy your meal. Please come here, the dining room is in this direction.” The butler’s voice was sweet and calm, John couldn’t help but listen to it closely, barely noticing when they reached the dining room and he had sat down at the head of the table.
“Now please get comfy while I bring you your dinner, young mister.” The butler did a bow and went to the kitchen, coming back five minutes later with a big plate of food, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and salad. “I’m so sorry sir but since you’re driving I can’t offer you wine, now please eat and enjoy your meal, I hope you like it”.
John nodded and tasted it, savoring every bite. They talked about trivial stuff, like their jobs, the weather and sports; John listened but he was getting sleepy. He yawned and rubbed his eyes, and when he had finished his meal, he could barely keep his eyes open.
“Looks like the young mister is tired, you can barely keep your eyes open. If you wish I can take you to the guest room so you can rest before the tow arrives, and I’ll give you notice when they come.
“Yeah… t-thanks…. I’m more tired than I thought… I need to sleep.” The husky rubbed his eyes again and yawned, he could barely stand up. The butler smiled gently as he took the husky’s hand “please, let me help you, this way please.”
The butler walked slowly, making sure to help John every time he tripped over his paws as he guided him to the basement. He opened an old brown door and they went in; the place looked like a strange surgical room. “Here is your room, please take a seat on this chair while I… prepare your bed”
“Yes. I’ll sit….h-here…” John took a seat in a metallic chair with shackles, who were secured by the butler, also restraining him with leather leashes, one tightening over his head. “that’s it… the young mister is such a good boy…” the butler said, putting a machine that looked like a big vacuum cleaner near John, connecting the hose to his right ear.
While the Butler prepared everything, John came back to reality slowly. “Uh…? H-how did I…? Where….? What’s going on?” John muttered while he tried to stand up from the chair with clumsy movements.
“Oh… looks like I miscalculated the dose… that, or they sold me a cheaper brand.” The butler said kind of annoyed with himself for the mistake, connecting an empty jar to the other side of that fancy machine.
“Wh… what are you doing?” the husky stammered scared of the whole situation. Trying to get free more and more, but he was totally restrained to the chair. “Well, this is the way you’ll pay my darling master for his hospitality and kindness, he let you take shelter from the storm and gave you a delicious meal after all!” The butler spoke smirking as he turned on the machine, which made strange noises as John felt some pressure on his right ear, as it began to work.
“Nnnghh!! S-stop please!” John begged while he squirmed on the chair, trying to move his head away from that hose with no avail since he was connected to it. The machine raised the pressure, sucking harder and harder, John squirming more and more until *pop*, and John’s brain was sucked completely out of his head.
“Duuuhh… bleeehhehe…” Without his brain, the husky started to drool and babble incoherently while his whole brain traveled down the hose until it came out of the other side, landing in the empty jar. The butler turned off the machine, giving John some pats on his head and untying him. “Don’t worry, soon you’ll be back to normal.”
“Eeeehhh…? Hehehehe…” John giggled in response and drooled more with his tongue hanging out of his mouth. The cat took the jar with the brain and went to the next room, where he pulled the brain out of the jar and put in on a surgery table. Carefully, he installed a microchip between both hemispheres and when he turned it on, John stopped drooling and babbling, regaining his consciousness bit by bit.
“Hehehe…. Uh…? W-what…? What happened?” John rubbed his head as he looked around while the butler came back from the other room, carrying John’s brain back on the jar, who emitted a blue light, coming from the microchip.
“I’m glad to see that you’re back to normal, how do you feel?” The cat smirked while he put the brain in front of John. Immediately, the microchip started to do its work and John’s answer was automatic.
“I feel so much better now that my brain is not in my head anymore, thank you so much for removing my useless brain, sir.” He said while he looked at his old brain, floating slowly inside that jar.
“Perfect, now you can go back to your normal life.” The butler said while he wrote on a label ‘John, Husky (002)’ and put it next to the other brain in the room, the label was old and could barely be read ‘….., C.t (001)’.
Both walked back to the dining room, and John helped clean the table, when the doorbell rang. This time, it was John who opened it, a muscle chub tiger around his 40s was on the other side, totally wet due to the storm.
“Hi, good night, my name is Tyler and I’m looking for John, they sent me to tow his car to the nearest gas station but his car is empty. I saw this house and thought that he could have taken shelter here”.
“That’s right, I’m john” the husky smiled and shook his hand. “I’m sorry for making you come here with this rain, wouldn’t you like to rest for a bit? I’m sure there’s plenty of food in the kitchen, the butler of this house will give you a nice meal.
“Oh thank you so much, I’m kinda hungry and I don’t wanna drive with my stomach empty” the tiger said, coming inside and walking to the dining room escorted by John, while the butler wrote in another jar ‘Tyler, tiger (003)’. He giggled and smirked “well… maybe your stomach will not be empty, but your head sure will be!”
