One afternoon, Stevonnie came to Lapis in her studio on her day off from teaching, Stevonnie got a request from Yellow Diamond to find and report back on a gem Prisoner barge that had crash landed on a unoccupied planet and in the rush to demilitarize the Gem empire, the crew and prisoners had yet to be rescued. Stevonnie asks Lapis to help rescue all these gems, unaware Yellow Diamond really just wants to see if there is any gems left to save period before wasting Homeworld resources.

Lapis being eager to give back after causing eon's of hurt to the universe jumps at the chance to do some good and comes along with Stevonnie to help. They take a teleporter that's specifically calibrated to the downed ships and get beamed aboard the now derelict vessel where they everything is covered in overgrowth and hasn't been lived in for some time.

The pair keep searching the massive county wide ship, luckily they locate a map and find out the biggest part of the ship is in the middle, big enough for 3 beach cities, Stevonnie looks to Lapis with excitement and tells her "This must be where everyone is!!" Lapis not wanting to bring the moment down with the grim possibilities smiles and nods as they make their way to the ships center and after an hour and a half of walking they finally arrive......but their met with a strange obstacle.

After opening the door so the main "Fantasy Zone detention arena" as its labeled, their met with a rubbery wall through the doorway, one that looks like a bouncy castle? Stevonnie leans on it to figure out if they should pop it when suddenly Stevonnie is quickly sucked into the wall, Lapis goes into a panic attack for a moment but summons the courage up to dive in after her friend.

Once inside Lapis's feet touch down on a bouncy air filled rubber surface, she see's Stevonnie standing with their back turned, Lapis reaches out and turns them around but is met with a shocking sight to see Stevonnie is coated head to toe in Rubber with a big dopey smile across their face as they tell Lapis "I am sorry stranger, but I cant chat right now, I need to head back home, goodbye! and bounces off deeper into an entire medieval town that all coated in rubber, including all the gems walking around who are all covered in rubber and dressed like their apart of this set up.

Lapis tries not to dwell on all that and tries to race after Stevonnie, but her feet wont leave the floor, she looks down and see the rubber creeping up her body and before she has a chance to scream, it completely envelops her too, now Lapis isn't simply coated head to toe in Rubber, its forced her gem to shape shift her into solid living rubber as it did with Stevonnie, and on top of that, all of Lapis's memories and personality have been locked off and replaced with new fake memories that are updating for everyone in the entire rubbery world as Lapis smiles and makes her way to her home.

What neither Stevonnie or Lapis knew about before taking on this mission, is Homeworld keeps their most dangerous Gem prisoners aboard these ships and they serve out their imprisonment inside a false reality where everything is rubbery and safe, that way even if a gem prisoner had a will strong enough to resist the temporary mind altering, they couldn't do any harm to their surroundings even if they tried, but after the ship crashed the entire crew of the ship found themselves in a hostile environment they couldn't survive in and with all radio communications to Homeworld gone, the entire crew of the ship entered the fake world to stay safe.

To keep the illusion up and make sure nobody breaks character and tries to remember who they really are, All gem's inside the "Fantasy Zone" are all turned into Rubber and given new names, identities, jobs, and personalities that are all universally updated into the memories of everyone inside, so despite having just arrived, Stevonnie and Lapis are remembered as always having been here and likewise they already know everyone within the Fantasy zone too, as their new Identities are that of Princesses of two separate kingdoms, beloved by all for their radiance and charm.

When Stevonnie and lapis return to their castles on opposite sides of each kingdom, their greeted with joy from their servants but are urged to dress properly as they look over their original rubberified clothes and shapeshift into both wearing regal rubber dresses, looking like real Princess now. For several weeks, the pair go about their new rubbery lives, completely unaware of the passage of time or their memories of ever knowing each other, but that all changes on the night of the regal banquette.

The two neighboring kingdoms hold a joint banquette for everyone from the presents to the royals to dance and mingle as equals, that's when Princess Stevonnie and Princess Lapis meet eyes for the first time, their previous encounter was wiped from their memories so this was the first time they've ever met.....and its love at first sight. Like a fairy tail, the two princesses meet eye to eye and are instantly in love with one another as Princess Stevonnie offers Princess Lapis to dance and the two twirl in each others rubbery arms all night, ending with a kiss.

In no time at all, the two princesses get married and forge their own kingdom together as Queen Stevonnie and Queen Lapis of kingdom of Beachcitia, all of this happens in an instant as the system running this rubbery illusion provides them with their kingdom and reassigns many gems over to fill out the cast of their new kingdom, altering the memories of everyone so that nobody questions anything and immediately falls into their new roles of serving the two Queens of their new home.

Queen Stevonnie sometimes gets strange feeling of thinking the same thing twice, unaware they use to be Steven and Connie before they fused to become Stevonnie in the first place, but with those memories suppressed and her new ones making her just as happy, who or what she was in the past is pushed away into her subconscious where it belongs as she kisses her rubbery wife whom she has always shared her life with as fusion isn't possible in these rubbery forms. Lapis meanwhile has a stronger nagging feeling that almost breaks her out of character for a moment, but this life she has has never made her more happy in her entire existence, and she willingly caves into the lies and lets her tragic past and the rest of her old life, become a distant memory, all hail the Queens.
