WIP - Page One Insert
...I don't know what to say, really. This is a WIP for page one of the first issue of Sweet Shoppe...but, this image will appear and only be like...2 inches by 1 1/2 inches. WHY in the HECK did I spend so much time on this!?
*shakes fist*
My thing is that when I'm working, I tend to work ridiculously larger than the finished product and I guess this is just no exception. *sighs* But, since it was going to end up being supremely tiny in the finished product, I figured I'd go ahead and share it with y'all as a WIP. It's not finished, it still needs highlights and things, but, it's getting there.
If you saw the page one sample, you know that the two news reporters need to be on this page as well. They ARE inked and scanned. I just gotta color them and then, this page is done! WOOHOO!
Two pages are penciled (they now need ink, scanning and colorign) and an additional two are rough penciled, but they need work! LOLZ! But, pages 1-3 are actually almost done! ...that leaves 17 more to go! ^^;
*sobs pitifully*
*cracks knuckles*
Well, I got work to do. I'd better do it to it! See ya!

*chuckles* I'll let the Calico News know that he needs to be let go of
Prussians, eh? Honestly, I just sketched this from the top of my head. But, I really wish, in retrospect, that I would have looked at something. But, it was going to be such a small part of the overall image, that I was trying not to go nuts with it...even though that's exactly what I ended up doing anyway

Thanks! I gotta work on that And I'm glad you like this
Hmm? Oh, this isn't the wedding, this is the engagement ceremony. It was a surprise to both of them, so I think they're still in shock. The ceremony took place a while before this news report happened, so now they've had time to let the idea settle, which is why when they speak of Arjuna, he seems happy

I was thinking Queen Juliana or Queen Beatrix, but looking at pictures has shown that they look nothing like her, except maybe the curls at the back:

They're also way way older...and...well...not cats

Great artwork, Kitty
It may or may not have been mentioned by others above, but good reasons to work on a large version of a small piece of artwork is (1) it's easier to draw in the large than the very tiny, and (2) when you shrink the piece down and print on a quality printer, it will retain that fine detail. That extra quality is really worth it for the final product. Oh, and by the way, *glomps!*

Awesome. Just awesome. That's all I can say. It's lovely to see these kind of images up close for a change since they are so small in the final page. And the princess does indeed look a lot like Sugar! =~.^=
Haha, I agree though, that cameraman of the news crew needs to be fired for taking exactly this shot =~.^= The prince is kind of looking as if he is rehearsing a math exam in his mind, and the expression of the princess just somehow seems to say "what're you looking at?"
But even so; still super-awesome work!
