Finn and Savanna Mondas, both B-List celebrities through modeling and music careers, began to see that superheroes were on the rise as the "next big thing". And thanks to their parents vast wealth and resources the two agreed to undergo experimental treatments to become super-powered protectors in their own rights. After they were both approached by InferaCorp to test new silicon-based experiments the results were beyond what any had imagined.

Finn could now change the density of his skin to become as hard and durable as rock, whereas Savanna's physiology became lucid as sand; her being able to control it and other bodies of sand/granite/minerals around her. Thus the two were dubbed "Sandstorm" and "Geo-Hound", and have since been known as more "celebrity heroes"; always showing off for public apperance, having merchandise and even reality TV shows about their crime fighting exploits. Despite the divided reactions the public has had with them the sibling superheroes continue to fight for right, and for fame and fortune as well.
