Hi! Were you looking for a small bit of inspiration to keep you going and to make you keep trying?
Well uh,
I can't promise this is super inspirational, but I hope this can give someone that little push that they may need!!
Programs used (from left to right): Online Oekaki (2008), SAI (2013), and Clip Studio Paint (2020)
Here's a little background on the art/the OC:
This is an old OC of mine that I created back in 2006/2007. Her name was originally Bellandor, and she was (one of) my first OCs I had ever created, and the first one I had truly fallen in love with. Without her, I'm honestly not sure I'd be so deep into having/creating/drawing OCs !! Usually if I'm referring to her now, I just call her "Bells" because it's easier and cuter.
I started my art journey as a toddler, and during middle school I made an amazing friend that introduced me to the world of digital art. I started off using an online oekaki called "Sutaro Sketcher" using just a *wireless* mouse. (Of all things. It was wireless. Yikes.) I had dabbled around in MS Paint before, but I had never previously interacted with a program that had so many interesting tools to work with. Child me would be absolutely blown away by the amount of tools I have access to in Clip, haha.
Shortly after starting my digital art journey, my parents gave me a Wacom Graphire for the holidays. The first image of Bells from 2008 was one of the many early pieces of digital art with my drawing tablet that I made. I remember how proud I was when I finished drawing it. Child me obsessed over how precious and adorable my OC looked, and how much smoother my lines were with the tablet. I may look back on the piece now and chuckle about it, but back then it truly meant the world to me.
My art now is by no means perfect, but seeing my journey side-by-side in a line like this makes me excited for what my art will look like another 12 years from now.
Keep on going!!!
