In the 12th century, Mephis was made a holy knight; a crusader of the realm, sent out to kill the heretics in the holy land, yet as time moved on, even as Mephis collected victory after victory, he grew bitter of having to kill innocent people, simply for believing something else then he and also grew bitter of the very cause and church that sent him to a war that he was sure god had all but forsaken them in. Sick of watching friends die and innocents slaughtered by the very crusader that claimed they were holy and a force for good, he took matters into his own hands and one night in 1148, the night that changed everything...
