Sollick's starved condition comes about when he has over-expended his biomass, usually in a fit of obsessive passion in sharing it with others for his own perverted glee. In being over-expended, he has lost a significant amount of his body mass, resulting in him becoming very squat at 4 feet tall. The loss isn't just in height, as in this state he is mostly hollow, making him very bouncy and light on his feet. He is also of very little threat to most people who could take him on.

Due to his greatly diminished mass and stature, Sollick relies almost exclusively on his cunning to survive like this, as expending further biomass runs the risk of him wasting his existence to the point he cannot come back from. This makes him far more cautious, and more inclined to use his silver tongue in order to persuade people into allowing him to consume their excess mass to replenish himself. Failing that, he'll try to take excess body mass from those currently asleep, just to get back to a normal state.
