After the larger dinosaurs went extinct, there suddenly became a surplus of unhatched eggs and unguarded nests for the smaller ones to raid. This bounty did not go unnoticed.

The small dinosaurs, so used to scurrying off to avoid becoming meals themselves, no longer had to be stealthy in their actions. They began to indulge their appetites, gradually adding more fat to their formerly lithe frames. Their bellies hung lower and lower, sometimes making it difficult to walk upright. Towards the end of their own era, these little egg stealing scavengers had to resort to lying belly down to get anywhere.
