A Canadair T-114 Tutor of Canada's Snowbirds aerial demonstration team made a visit to historic Selfridge ANG Base recently. To conduct a site survey in preparation for their performance at the base open house in June. No power-boosted controls in this jet. They fly it "old school".

I remember the first time I watched the Snowbirds preform. It was at one of the early Abbotsford International Airshows that was in 67 or 68. That was way before it became The Abbotsford International Airfair.
The Snowbirds were impressive and have only gotten better over the years.
At that show I saw a Short Brothers Skyvan, the Martin Mars water bomber, damn that thing's big. The Canadair CF 215 water bomber, along with the whole lot of other airplanes. I knew a couple friends of the family that flew at the air show, one of them being The Flying Professor, Dave Rohm.
Thanks for bringing back a trip down memory lane. Oh not many people know this same bird was used as a ground attack aircraft by a few countries.
