This the 3rd in a series of Dungeons & Dragons monsters. I asked some of my friends what they would want to pick up if they saw it, then craft their choices into Mimics. This newt creature was chosen by Crystal.
These little monsters, like the lizards they disguise themselves as, are amphibious. Due to that, they tend to drool a lot more than your standard Mimic. The firebellies are seen more as vermin & are easily disabled with a stunning smack to the back or charm spell. A firebelly will use its hooked claws to latch onto prey & bite at their flesh. The eyes on the lizard's head are real as well as the tongue, which it uses to smell & taste its surroundings.
