Well, like Patty (off screen) said, Bill is just Nevan's boss.
Currently, Bill doesn't know that Nevan has a huge crush on him.
And apparently Mama Virgin didn't know that Bill doesn't know.
Also, after that movie, Nevan was too tired to realize that he didn't exactly imagine Bill tucking him in.
Lastly, Mrs. Virgin may want to remember that her baby boy has heart problems other than of the relationship variety. I like Nevan being cute and all, but I like him to live too....
