Peoples are going through their daily lives, numbers and statistics on an stratified and overpopulated ecumenopolis rotten to the core with crime, filled with various amounts of corrupt leaders.
No matter your size or the skills you have, you tend to lose the few people close to you left in this city if you are not careful.
It is a lesson that detective Seykkee learned the hard way after losing her partner.
Joining the Planetary Sector Investigation Department wasn't the wisest decision she had made in her life.
Her position in this line of work made her colleagues and herself regular targets from self proclaimed drug lords or death dealers and occasionally from hypocritical angry populace.
Working for the top brass brings its own hassle in itself. She was expecting them to brush the case aside, give her a letter and some days off to mourn. But getting a replacement right from the get go wasn't one. Tiny, but at least he was willing to help.
Tonight however, Seykkee hadn't the heart to start investigating her friend's death, it will have to wait tomorrow.
