Another space scene pic I made in Photoshop. This time I wanted to depict the star Gliese 581 and the planet scientists believe to be a rocky earth-type world, Gliese 581c orbiting around it.
More info about that here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gliese_581_c
Again, this is more practice that anything getting used to all the nifty doodads Photoshop has to offer.

Both C and D are likely candidates, being just 5 and 7 times the mass of the Earth, or no greater than 1.5 times the diameter of the Earth, as well as both worlds are at either end of the star's habitable zone- E is too close, and B is too big, probably a gas giant. C is thought, however, to be more Venus-like, while D is much more temperate, if a bit on the cool side- Enough to have substantial amounts of ice as well as open ocean, with a range of temps within the human comfort zone, only probably 1.5-2x the atmosphere and probably about 1.5-2x the gravity.
