An alley wall;
Desolate as
A black Hummingbird;
A rainbow without colour.
Art fills the Wall,
each painting shouting a message
at You, the viewer of
this Fine museum’s display.
Here, a message is inscribed,
A cardinal’s range of colours;
As if etched by knives.
“Power to the East!” the Painting exclaims.
“West shall rule!” roars another;
Bright as the noonday sun.
Each sketch,
Proclaiming a side,
In a war that no Man shall win.
However, tho’ Artists may die,
And Patrons may fall,
Art carries on,
Bringing a modicum of peace,
Like a parley
Amidst Chaos.
