This is a picture of Pesha, another of the many cougars that the EFRC takes care of. The story, if I remember correctly, was that her owner kept her outside on a huge dog chain with no shelter. Eventually sometime in the winter, the tips of her ears caught a bit of frostbite. A concerned and caring neighbor stepped in and called the DNR and EFRC to rescue her. She is not up there and in good healthy condition (minus the tips of her ears :( ) and has a very nicce warm shelter to sleep in.
In this pic she saw the tour crowd coming and stopped pacing to see what we were up to.

She's a sweetheart. I went on a second tour (because I was an overnight stay, I was allowed as many tours on the days I was there as I wanted) with out a crowd. She saw me coming and walked over to me. I couldn't get more than 3 feet from the cage but she followed me every where I went and even waited for me when I went to another area because she was there at the exit/entrance when I came past. XD. They are all such lovely creatures there. Magnificent to behold.
