Xodiac finds a booth at a convention that promises the ultimate VR experience. But it may not be quite ready for market, yet, as there are sometimes some peculiar side effects.
Xodiac was having a blast at the rather large gaming convention that had come to town. He was a frequent player of video games, having grown up with them so having a convention of this caliber so close to him meant that he'd be a fool to not show up! And judging by how much fun he was having he had no regrets about making his decision to come! The dragon and coyote hybrid hadn't had this much fun in ages! Getting to sample new games before anyone else as well as the upcoming updates for current ones was something he was not taking for granted.
As Xodiac walked around the convention floor, he tried to find a booth he hadn't yet checked out and was of interest to him. This would come from what looked to be strange large steel box, with cosplayers sitting at a desk in front of it. Curious, Xodiac made his way over to the booth, appearing to be some sort of VR device judging by the outside. It was being manned by a fox woman dressed up like Princess Peach.
"Hello there! I see you eyeing the booth! Come over!" she called over to Xodiac. He turned behind him to make sure she wasn't talking to someone else. "Yeah you! Come on now!" she waved her hand, inviting the dragote over.
With a small smile, Xodiac happily obliged as he walked over. "So what's this thing anyways?"
"I'm glad you asked!" the fox said grandly. "First, my name is Jessica and I'll be your guide to our little booth today! What we've managed to do is create a state of the art virtual reality experience. So, thanks to a little sensory trickery, we're able to make it feel like you are physically in a game!"
"You're selling me on this pretty good Jessica." Xodiac commented and laughed with a nod.
"Then let me sell you really good!" she giggled. "So unlike other virtual reality experiences, ours does not utilize any headset or even hardware! Inside of our cube, sensors and nanites are used to truly immerse you into the world. You won't see any of your body, and you'll feel like you're in the game entirely right at the center of it. It's all the fun of regular VR, with the immersion you won't feel anywhere else! For the first time ever, you're REALLY put in the game!" she threw her hands out grandly. "So what do you say, wanna try it?"
"Let's do it! Sounds like a once in a lifetime experience, can't imagine these are going to be cheap when they are more readily available!" Xodiac laughed.
"It is going to be a while, since we want to make the best product possible! We're keeping it to conventions for now until we can get a good and affordable product available for everyone. But we're proud of the progress we've made so far and I'm happy to be the first to show you!" Jessica smiled as she got up. "Go ahead and follow me inside and I'll set you all up!" she led Xodiac into the machine.
"This is a lot more roomier than it looks on the outside." Xodiac commented as he looked around the interior of the device, seemingly much larger on the inside.
"Our engineers made sure to make everything feel as authentic as possible and we didn't want the walls getting in the way." Jessica responded as she walked over to a computer inside, hitting a few buttons. "Okay, now to choose the game! We're still in beta, so our selection is still rather small. Currently we have Super Mario Brothers, Final Fantasy, and Star Fox Adventures."
"Lots of adventure games!" Xodiac nodded his head. "I think I'll go with Star Fox Adventures. That sounds like it'd be the most fun!"
"Very well then!" Jessica smiled, selecting the game. "Now then, sit back and enjoy the opening cutscenes! While it happens, you'll find yourself slowly starting to feel like the character in the game! It may take a little bit to calibrate but don't worry! It's all just apart of the process!" she assured him. "Enjoy your game!" she ended with a smile as she closed the doors, leaving Xodiac to himself.
Xodiac turned his attention to the screen, watching as the introduction to the game played. As he did, the booth was seemingly starting to feel draftier. Xodiac would figure out what the culprit was when he looked down, his clothes was transforming! His khaki shorts were connecting at the fronts while the sides would melt away. The waistband became much thinner as much of the backside left him as well. The color turned primarily white, with gold linings on it to become nothing more than a loincloth. Around Xodiac's ankles, gold braces would form, metallic and cold. His shirt would practically be all gone, melting upward and downward before meeting at the chest, where the front formed into two gold plated cups and the back into mere straps to hold the garment up. Around his rather large dragonic feet, a pair of white, open toe sandals materialized, though were rather uncomfortably tight. Similarly, gold bracelets formed around Xodiac's wrists, with an engraved spiral pattern in them. Two matching shoulder pads formed on his shoulders, with a choker around his neck. Xodiac would gain one more accessory on the neck, this time a necklace with an emerald jewel. Lastly, a headband formed on Xodiac's head with another gold necklace attached to it, of which had a ruby attached to it. Xodiac would go one step further, with light purple eyeshadow being applied to his eyelids, along with mascara on his eyelashes to really amplify them.
Xodiac blushed and blinked a few moments, looking down at his rather bare body. He had to admit it felt strange to be so exposed, an in an outfit built for the opposite sex. Not only that, he recognized what the outfit was right away, it was none other than Krystal's! It did make sense, since the game started with her as the playable character, he just didn't expect the outfit to feel so real! Jessica certainly wasn't lying about that! He took a few experimental steps, and the outfit moved around on his body as if it was real, and it felt real too!
As the cutscene progressed further, Xodiac's body would change as well to better fit the outfit thrust upon him, moreso than he ever anticipated. He felt his body mass start to rapidly shrink down in size, starting to become much more petite to make it easier for him to act acrobatically. Xodiac's shoulders were significantly less broad, with his arms become thinner and more slender. However, that wasn't to say they were weak, quite the opposite as a matter of fact. Despite their feminine frame, they had their fair share of muscles, Xodiac being more than capable to hand himself in a fight should one arise. His hands were a fair bit smaller as well, staying proportionate with the rest of his changing figure. Xodiac's sides pushed inward as his hips expanded outward, highlighting the increasing curvy body he was getting. His back pushed into an incline, with Xodiac's rear growing into a pert size. The dragote now had a clear hourglass figure. The last figure changes would come to Xodiac's legs, as some parts grew larger and others smaller as they became shapely to complete Xodiac's hourglass figure, making him look much more feminine.
While his figure altered, so would Xodiac's species. He would loose the hybrid aspect of it, as his large, green wings would rapidly shrink. It wasn't long until they were gone from his body entirely. The horns on Xodiac's head would befall the same fate, receding back into his skull entirely, smoothing out on it shortly thereafter. His dragonic legs would shift to a more mammalian look, as the scales were traded off for fur. However, it wasn't brown like the rest of Xodiac, rather a light blue color. His feet became significantly smaller, the toes shortening as they took on the appearance of paws, the toes being covered in white fur. The last bit of dragon would leave Xodiac, with it becoming thicker as blue fur that matched the color of his legs formed, the end going into a whitish blue. Rather than a dragon tail, it was now a fox one with the tail being tied and separated with bands.
More of Xodiac's body transitioned towards his foxy fate. The brown fur over his body would lighten into the same light blue his legs had, with a lighter shade closer to white going down his front and muzzle. Speaking of, Xodiac's muzzle would become much thinner and more petite, with his nose shrinking into a smaller size. His ears were relatively the same shape, albeit slightly shorter and wider. The backsides of them turned a darker blue compared to the rest of his new fur, with the insides of them becoming a blue tinted white. The fur on his head grew longer, as some formed into hair as it formed into various bangs, albeit reaching just barely the end of his head. Xodiac was no longer a dragon or a coyote, but all fox.
The last to go would be Xodiac's sex. A majority of his body had already taken on a more feminine figure, and the final step would come as two mounds of flesh started to amass at his chest. They became soft and sensitive as they grew to fit into his metallic bra. Underneath Xodiac's loincloth, his manhood would invert in on itself, leaving a simple flat surface behind as his sex swapped, making Xodiac not only a woman, but an exact copy of Krystal herself!
"Whoa! This really does feel realistic!" Xodiac commented to herself, the "game" having officially started. She took a few experimental steps, and every part of her body moving as if it were really her's. Having played a bit of the game before, Xodiac walked over to a dinosaur, which began speaking some strange language. Much to her confusion, she understood exactly what it had said. What surprised Xodiac even more was the fact she responded without missing a beat, speaking in the same language.
"How did I know that..." Xodiac questioned blinking a few times in disbelief. As she walked, she felt more nerves flow through her. She didn't know where they were coming from, if it was a part of the experience or the fact that she found herself calling herself Krystal. Xodiac tried to not think too hard on it, probably just the machine really immersing her.
As she entered into a new room, enemies began to start attacking her. She grabbed a nearby staff and went right to work on dismantling them with relative ease. Xodiac had surprised herself, catching her breath once the coast was clear. She placed the base of the staff on the ground and leaned on it. "How did I know how to do all that?" she questioned, having done many moves and flips that she never once thought possible.
Xodiac progressed through the game more, eventually reaching the point where she would be trapped and encased into a crystal, frozen. Normally, this is where the game would transition into playing as the titular character Fox. However, this would simply change to ending the simulation.
The world around Xodiac would "de-digitize" as it returned to being the chamber. All but one, Xodiac was still in Krystal's body! She looked down, tilting her head as to why she was still like this, and the fact she kept thinking her name was Krystal despite knowing that wasn't true!
"Uhm...Jessica?" she called out. "Why am I still Krystal...in fact, why am I Krystal?"
"Oh!" Jessica ran inside and covered her hands over her muzzle. "They warned me this could happen..." she muttered under her breath. "Okay, don't panic! You'll just have to go to our offices and they can fix you right up...probably..." she muttered.
"How am I supposed to go there looking like this?" Xodiac questioned.
"You're at a video game convention, my advice is to go win the Cosplay Contest, no one is going to look as real as you." she said with an awkward smile and shrug.
Xodiac could only sigh. At the very least she could do that, and the prize money could probably pay for her travels to get all of this fixed. At the very least it was a character she liked!
This was another quick story commission by
vinomath. This time the theme was video game characters, and I picked one of my favorites, Krystal from Starfox Adventures. (I mean, really, what furry doesn't like Krystal?) I suggested either Xodiac get sucked into a video game somehow, or he is wandering a convention and is made to cosplay with a costume that turns out a bit more realistic than he expected. To my surprise, he combined the two! Came out well, I think. You can Fave it in his own gallery here, if you like.

Damn. If they were going to recreate that game in holodeck level VR, they could have at least remade it into its Dinosaur Planet true form! Krystal was a lot more playable, and we got to see more of her friendship with the Saurians. (And the plot was so much better.)
Nice work dude. Nice TF.
