Hey, so, you're probably wondering why this looks so bad.
Well, it starts with the fact that I drew the original sketch back when I was in high school. That was 5+ years ago. Although I am reluctant to admit it, I *have* improved since then. problem is that much of the digital aspect of this piece was already done back in 2015 or whatever. Rather than try to redo the whole picture using the techniques I learned over the years (which would have delayed this picture for five more years...), I just retrofitted the best I could to try and finish this thing. Development hell, basically. It looks horrible but sometimes you have to put Old Yeller in the ground. More specifically, I have no clue how to do large quantities of bubbles and I kind of had something going with the foamy bubble streams coming from her mouth but for some unholy reason I couldn't make it work with the wreckages to her left and right. I don't know why but every attempt just failed and failed. Then there's the issue of how in God's green earth I am supposed to show the transition of the underwater bits to the surface of the ocean. There's weird lighting effects and stuff people use to show the waves and whatever but it's beyond me. Honestly, she probably looks like she's floating in space because of that.
For what it's worth, I won't put this in scraps where it belongs. It's close enough to being finished that doing so would be a waste, I think. I dunno. I tried. I tried so damn much. Looking at this picture anymore makes me feel ill, especially when I see that other people can draw underwater crap.
The character, Aleiah, is mine. The mini-subs she's smashing are from Metal Slug, which is not mine.
God, I need a drink.

Thank you. Maybe someday I will come back to this scene and try to re-create it with the bits and pieces I've learned over the years, as well as having the foresight to sketch additional elements ahead of time rather than try to retrofit them into something already in development, ha.
