Lye is actually pretty dangerous to work with and the fumes can be toxic if inhaled too much. Any chemical made at home is generally dangerous to produce because of mistakes. It’s better to buy them premade to reduce the risk of exposing yourself, your family, and your neighbors to dangerous chemicals. Before you say how easy it is, remember... people are stupid by nature and it takes many mistakes before one learns how to prefect a task. Less risk, more reward.

I was gonna say, Lye can be dangerous if handled improperly i actually looked into making my own soap months ago wondering if it would save money. But once i realized how dangerous Lye was i decided against it---that said there are plenty of people that make soap at home and do just fine. People just need to be aware of how dangerous Lye actually is and do some research before attempting it.
