Yeah. That does add a nice atmosphere to it. I live in Maine, and there are some parts of Sanford (the factories) that look like stuff from some post apocalypse setting

Yep. Lotta factories that closed down in the 80's. Buncha crybabies said they were bad for the environment, then years later complained there were no jobs in the state and just played the blamegame. I like the way the factories look. Never been in them. But they're big brick buildings. Some of the windows are boarded up, others are left the same, some walls are missing, plants growing on them, graffiti all over it, etc. There's a little river that runs through, so some of the buildings are connected by bridges on the second floor, that is now sagging down and looks like it could fall off any day now.

Ah cool. I remember going through New England and they had some fantastic factory buildings. Most of the ones I saw were textile mills I suspect. Most of the closings were probably outsourcing I suspect. The found out they could produce cheaper over seas in countries with no environmental regulation as well as horrible worker treatment. Though those kinda go hand in hand if you think about it. People don't realize the environment isn't a separate entity. If the environment is unhealthy we are as well.

That's why I wish they'd open back up here. Strengthen our economy because we're actually providing our own goods for ourselves and exporting instead of buying everyone else's. Also under this would be if there were something dangerous, you could sue or get some kind of compensation. Over there.. You work 60 hours a week, no overtime pay, no health benefits, no nothin.

They realize this, but the people in charge are retarded and do things that don't help. Instead, since they don't want to actually put a REAL effort into it, they claim inflation will work the same. Seriously. They think inflation is a good thing. I'll quote one of those retards "if the people get more money in their paychecks, they'll be more motivated, and more likely to spend" Um.. Problem in this. If the only reason they're getting more is inflation, then everything else went up to, so nothing is being done other than making the U.S. dollar worth less.
