NOT MY ART
Commission I asked my dear old friend
vermine to do for my son's 7th birthday of his rats. My son saved up for over half a year to get his own pet rats, including the cost of the cage, toys, and food. Honestly I added a little to the fund after learning how much more stuff they would need... Pet rats are not cheap if you want them to be happy critters.
Anyhow, Greg is the black and white rat, named after Gecko from PJ Masks. He is an adventurous little fellow who picked us rather than us picking him. As he was a feeder rat, I like to think he knew we were there to give two lucky rats an awesome life and home, and he was the only one to run out to greet us. We have had him for about three months now and he continues to be a friendly and inqusitive little dude who loves cuddles and puts up with a lot of my younger childrens spazzyness. Rather than bite or show aggression when he has had enough he simply runs back to his cage.
Marshall is the albino rat named after the dalmatian in Paw Patrol. He is shy and tends to keep to himself whenever possible. He does not deal well with the kids energetic behavior, so he prefers the company of the adults with a more gentile touch. Only recently has he started coming out to ask for attention.. Its a work in progress but he seems overall happy with his situation, and is very active and playful after the kids go to bed.
Its certainly been a fun experiment.
My son loved this picture though, and I think it will be a wonderful memory one day as he grows older and looks back on his first pets.
