That thing you put on top is the gas block with a folding front sight. It goes on the barrel, and has a gas tube that allows the rifle to cycle. It's kind of an important part of the barrel. It doesn't go there.

ive tried to make guns piece by piece not using there already made onesi need more practice drawing

i think my biggest problem is they're calling the dust cover for the AK47/74/M/SVD an "Upper Receiver"

I suppose, and I'm sure it was easier to make t that way rather than making a whole new category. But its more so that those who don't know are learning it wrong.

Maybe it should be categorized with the upper parts, or receivers of the firearms, but it should be titled a dust cover.
