Tails was the first to stand up. As he did so, he brushed off any dust and debris that was still hanging onto his clothing. He looked over and saw that Jacob wasn't even a few feet away from him. He looked over to his raccoon friend and saw that Jacob was also covered in some fallen debris and dust. Quickly looking over himself and his friend, neither appeared to be hurt or seemed to sustain any life threatening injuries. With the brief health check out of the way, Tails looked at his surroundings. "That sure was crazy!" he thought to himself, thinking of how both he and Jacob had very suddenly and quickly outgrew the room in which they were in. As he looked around, he began to notice the incredibly obvious. "Everything is so small!" he thought to himself suddenly. "The trees all around us, the lab, EVERYTHING!" A great excitement began to rise up and spread all through Tails now massive form, until at last he couldn't contain his excitement anymore. "Yippee!!" Tails cried out with pure joy! As he shouted his excitement, he jumped a tiny bit and pumped up a victory fist in the air. "It worked!! It really worked! Jacob, the growth ray worked!"

Jacob groaned a little as he started to come too. He took a moment to sit up and began to figure things out. Just before he could contemplate exactly what had happened to him, he heard his friend Tails exclaim with great excitement, "Yippee! It worked!! It really worked!! Jacob, the growth ray worked!!" Jacob had heard what his friend had said, but he was still processing his surroundings when he looked up at Tails and asked, "Wait, what do you mean it worked?" Tails put a hand to his mouth and giggled for a moment before he answered. "Look around you silly." he gestured with his arms to indicate the surrounding area. "Does anything look ... different to you?" The two tailed kitsune asked Jacob with a smile as he waited patiently for the raccoon to make the obvious observation. Jacob's head was now finally starting to clear up and he was able focus better on his surroundings. It didn't take him long to realize what had happened. The raccoon's eyes went wide with surprise and excitement. "Oh my gosh!" Jacob exclaimed. He looked at the trees in the forest, Tails lab space, the road next to the lab. Everything he laid eyes on was so tiny and small. Finally, Jacob's eyes looked up at Tails again. Instantly he noticed just how enormous the two tailed fox was now. "Tails ... we're ... we're ...!" "That's right buddy!" Tails said excitedly. The two friends said the exact same thing at the same time with great joy and excitement. "WE'RE GIANTS!!" Tails practically had stars in his eyes. He held up to two very big thumbs up to Jacob and said with pure happiness, "We did it!!" Jacob threw his arms up in excitement and cried out in pure joy. "This is wonderful! We must be at least 50 feet tall!"

In all of the excitement however, Jacob suddenly realized something. His expression changed from one of joy to one of sudden horror as he looked at the lab space. "Oh no!!!" Jacob cried out. "The lab is destroyed! Everything we've worked on ... is gone!!" The giant raccoon's voice began to break as he felt tears well up in his eyes. "How will we shrink back down to normal size?" Jacob asked through his tears. Tails stepped very carefully and bent down to look into the lab space. It didn't take long for him to find the growth ray and examine it. The colossal fox couldn't believe it, but the machine itself was relatively undamaged. He wasn't about to fathom exactly how it miraculously survived the incident, but it did. "Don't cry Jacob." Tails said to his friend gently. "Look here, the machine still works fine, see?" He brought it out as gently and as carefully as possible to show Jacob. The machine wasn't connected to anything so it was easy to bring out of the space. Upon seeing the undamaged machine with his own eyes, Jacob relaxed a lot more. His sadness began to be replaced with uneasiness.

Tails could still see something was amiss on Jacob's face. He gently put the machine down back in the lab space, then put a hand on his giant friends shoulder. "What's up Jacob? Why the long face?" Jacob looked into his friends eyes and sighed. "It's just ... I can't believe you actually did it. Turn us into giants I mean." Tails smiled at his friend with reassurance. "I didn't turn us into giants." Tails corrected him. "WE did it, you and me, together." Tails was still looking at Jacob with a great sense of reassurance. In the years since he met Sonic and palled around with him, Tails had grown up to be much more confident than he had been in the past. Despite that however, he never lost his immense sense of kindness and gentleness towards others, his willingness to help those in need , or to be there for someone when they needed it most. Since taking on Jacob as his apprentice, he had noted many similarities to himself from a few years ago. Like Tails, Jacob was brilliant and intelligent with technology, and had a very big heart for helping others. However, Jacob was at times very unsure of himself. He was always very modest and never really wanted to take risks. Tails continued to hope that as Jacob got a bit older, that maybe, some of his confidence would rub off on him, as Sonic's did for Tails.

"Are you afraid of being a giant?" Tails asked Jacob curiously. Jacob nodded yes to his friends question and responded "Y-Yeah. A little bit. I'm ... I'm not sure if i'll enjoy it. What if I accidentally hurt something?" Tails put his other hand on Jacob's other shoulder and rubbed both shoulders for a couple seconds as he said with reassurance, "I promise, you won't even come close to it. ... I'll tell you what. I'll make you a deal." Jacob nodded and eagerly listened. "Be a giant with me for 24 hours." Tails stated. "I'll be with you every step of the way. We'll work this out together. After that, we can use the machine to shrink back down to normal size. If you don't like it, we won't ever have to do this ever again. But if you do like it, we can do it more often. What do you think?" He waited for Jacob to make a response.

Jacob looked down for a second and thought about it for a few moments. He looked back up at Tails and smiled. "Okay. Let's do it!" he said excitedly. "That's my buddy!" Tails said happily. The titanic fox carefully stood up and offered both of his hands to Jacob. "Come on." Tails gently coerced his friend to take his hands so Jacob could stand up and get his footing. " This is the experience of a lifetime. I promise this is going to be a lot of fun!" Jacob took Tails hands and tried to get his footing as Tails pulled him up. "Thatta boy. Upsie daisy!"
