*Gag* *Retch* and this folks, is why it takes so long for me to make things, and why I erase so much. It looks absolutely abysmal in my opinion, but I am still following the plan, regardless of the results. If I fail again, it won't be my fault beyond believing in the practice techniques I found.
*sighs* so yes, this is page one of my drawn notes for a werespider concept, thought up thanks to picklejuice and a few other individuals. I am able to draw much better than this usually by erasing and fixing my work slowly but surely: not being able to erase shows every last one of my ugly errors up until I manage to draw "just" right. Still, I like the way the hands, feet, and arms and legs are coming. I got a good design near the end for the 8 eyes, but I will need more time/room to perfect the hybrid mouth, which I want to look streamlined, almost beaklike, when closed, before the mouthpieces open to reveal a more mandible-like appearence (Take a look at a wasp or a mantis some time and you'll understand what I mean)
So, yeah, I'm not impressed, but if this is part of the excersize, so be it. page 1 of 100, day 1.

*nods* this is actually the latest one I had seen, and yes, its very much cuter. I'm working on making an anatomy style a little different from most I've seen in the sense that the extra legs will be formed out of the original 2 arms and legs, rather than just sprouting out of the body... I am also trying to get a decent face worked out... got an idea on the eyes, but the mouth is giving me trouble. After that, its posing and positioning practice, tweaking limb and digit length for appropriate spidery proportions, and after that, details like shiney chitin and such.
Though... A courier spider? Is that a specific spider species, or just what the kid was before he changed? Either way, I do tend to find the fuzzier spiders to be cuter and less threatening... maybe I'll do a wolf spider or tarantula variation as well.
But yeah, PJ sparked the idea, but I don't think I'm going to be copying his anatomy or plot ideas, no offense to him.
