I've never been very good at scenery.
Muchi is an owl. She has a tree hollow for a home.
I've always loved the old storybooks with this sort of style. A tree with doors, a lantern with a firefly in it, animals that aren't 'morphic' or whatever you call it, but wear items of clothing. It's endearing and cute.
There are many, many errors with this and I apologise, but I wanted to get the idea for Muchi's home down on paper.

Never mind the errors - they're only technical and besides, it's a rather nice pic. I've always loved those style of pictures too, be it in the storybooks of my youth or in animation ( the 'tree' houses in the 'Winnie the Pooh' cartoons being a great example of the latter ). Make a critter 'too' morphic and it looses a bit of its charm... it's a fine balance.
Yeah - I plan to redo this when I sort out the tablet a friend let me borrow :} But I didn't want to forget the idea. Sort of a reminder, I suppose.
If I were any good at watercolours I'd take that route, try to do something vaguely like Beatrix Potter... ^^
Thank you for the lovely comment, by the way.
