In 2002, the group consisting of humans in support of freedom for the alternatives as well as other rebel alternatives free of ECS split into clans by make. Within each clan there is an order of roles and ranks that applies to each model and it’s classes.
With all of the newly established territory they needed a base or home. Widely referred to as a camp, these bases consisted of many garage like structures to house the vehicles, built mainly by the supporting humans with the help of some of the larger alternatives. Other buildings made up repair shops, stockpiles, nurseries, and general hang out places.
Before I have talked about different generations within each model, which plays an important role with the leaders of the whole clan. The newest generation alpha of each model represent them as a whole, this makes it so there is a few leaders, each in charge of their model groups. Using Chevrolet again, the leaders in present time would be 2020 vehicles, the Spark, Sonic,Malibu, Impala, Camaro, Corvette, Equinox, Bolt, Trax, Equinox, Blazer, Traverse...you get the deal. The Spark and Sonic, etc. both make up hatchbacks, Suburban and Tahoe, make up the larger SUVs, Blazer and other smaller SUVs are grouped together, as well as each class of Silverado. Colorados and Passenger vans mainly stay in their own groups. Each of these groups have their own roles in the clan:
Large trucks (Silverado, F150, Ram, etc.)
Defenders of the clan, protecting the clan from rival alternative brands. They are powerful and capable on all terrain so this gives them quite the advantage when protecting or providing for the clan’s needs. Despite their aggressive role and appearance, they are one of the more sociable alternatives next to the sedans and smaller SUVs. However, this will never stop them from becoming a roaring beast when wrongly provoked. Most of the time they are laid back and love meaningful conversation, just not all the time. These trucks mainly travel in a group of 4-6, they mainly keep in very closely bonded groups, and have an insanely large appetite for meat. They usually breed within their close bonded group but also tend to mate with outsiders. Their weight makes them bad hunters but sometimes their power can make up for it, making them a formidable predator for larger prey, although they give up pretty quickly in a chase. They stick close within the territory close to camp, as they don’t typically like long range travel. Just like any truck they are very capable of hauling heavy loads. Mainly keep to their own group and find the smaller trucks annoying.
Small trucks (Colorado, Ranger, Canyon, etc.)
These smaller trucks take down large prey as they are more agile and have all terrain abilities, so they are classed as hunters. They are more active than the larger trucks and way more chattier. They are usually the loudest one talking in the room. However, these trucks are timid at times, it’s never hard to chase one off. The small trucks go through multiple different mates. They are mostly solitary but always come around often to boast about something they have done. They absolutely love exploring off-road, often seen driving somewhere they probably aren’t supposed too. Their meals consist of mainly meat but mixed in with leafy greens. These trucks aren’t that friendly with towing. Sometimes they are known to hang around with a group of larger trucks, mainly for protection, they just have to be ready to dodge any bashing hoods in their direction.
Large SUVs ( Suburban, Durango, Expedition, etc.)
Classed as defenders as their size is just as menacing as the larger trucks, however they lack the speed and brutal behavior exhibited by them. They both travel alone and in small groups at times, slowly patrolling the territory. Their large size and weight make them terrible hunters. These large vehicles aren’t typically friendly and have a pretty short temper, but once you get close to them they are extremely loyal. They keep to their own small group of trusted alternatives, mainly extroverted save for a few. Known as the strong silent type. They either keep one mate or choose multiple. These alternatives eat a balance of both meat and greens. Being the large vehicles they are, they can transport anything for their own personal use or for the clan within their bodies, some equipped with 4X4. Many of these rebel alternatives have their seats removed in order to carry large quantities easier. Sorta like to stockpile food, leafy snacks mainly, for their large appetite, as well as personal belongings.
Small SUVs (Blazer, Escape, Journey, etc.)
These smaller SUVs both defend and hunt, with their smaller size, equal power to the larger SUVs, and all terrain abilities(for 4X4 anyway). They hunt in groups and are quite coordinated unlike the uncoordinated large trucks that simply rush in. These smaller SUVs use their own techniques through teamwork, making them sociable and closely bonded, but with much larger groups. These vehicles either choose one or multiple mates. In need of everyday social contact and love deep conversations. These SUVs also work well with the smaller sedans and hatchbacks and hang out with the larger SUVs at times. They also transport things within their bodies when needed, especially bringing back food from a hunt. Other than hunting, they love to stay in the heart of the territory where many hideouts have been built to serve as homes. Eats a balance of greens and meat.
Sedans (Impala, Fusion, Charger, etc.)
These alternatives are classed as hunters, mainly hunt on mostly even ground. They are the most social out of all of the vehicles and could run their mouths all day everyday. Very into drama and mischief and get quite emotional. They aren’t as closely bonded as the SUVs, larger trucks, and Camaros, which allows them to have quite a large friend group. These alternatives mate with different sedans throughout their life but stay committed until they decide its time to move on. However, In some cases they do keep the same mate. They take down medium sized prey alone but can take down larger prey in numbers. Can transport medium quantities, like small amounts of food stuffs and materials. They love to hang out at home and out in the territory. Eats a small appetite of meat and greens.
Hatchbacks (Cruze, Fiesta, etc.)
Classed as hunters, their size and power make them good hunters on mostly even and dry ground, but largely prefer keeping to pavement, which limits hunting. They are very social as well but also like to roam freely alone on their own terms and keep to themselves at times. They usually mate with 2-3 other alternatives in their life. Hunt medium prey and have small appetites that consist of meats and greens. They are also capable of carrying materials within themselves to transport.
Sports (Corvette, GT, Viper)
The most dangerous out of the hunters, equipped with agile bodies and massive power. However they have a drawback of having to stick firmly on pavement and even, dry ground that limits where they go. Very social alternatives and loosely bonded, this shows when they usually breed with multiple other corvettes, rarely keeping a mate. They are very flirtatious most of the time and love to tease, but knows how to keep distance as well. They love to roam in both larger groups or solitary. Of course, being performance vehicles they love to speed around. They eat very small appetite of meat.
Muscle (Camaro, Challenger, Mustang)
These alternatives both hunt and fight for the clan mainly in a group of 10-30. They are more heavy set and powerful than the sports cars and share the same terrifying speed. Has the same drawback of having to stick to the pavement. These vehicles keep mainly to themselves and stay solitary out of hunting and patrolling. However they keep very deep bonds and remain loyal to them to the point of avoiding others. They maintain a life-long bond with their mate and rarely breed with any others. They like to taunt others as well as enjoy joking banter. They are intimidating and the most aggressive of alternatives right next to the larger trucks, but more persistent. Gather in groups to combat much larger opponents. Eats mostly meat with some greens.
I’m sure this covers all respective models in a pretty broad spectrum, if I didn’t point out others specifically then tie them in with other models that relate. Like how vans can be related to SUVs. The model names I provided are only there as examples, as there is many more in each class. Again, this is a broad view because each make can have their own special characteristics and quirks.
And something I forgot to go over in my last post, a little bit about reproduction. Each alternative has both male and female genitalia, not asexual. I’ve posted a picture of a Camaro with the idea of how the male genitalia looks on these vehicles. Which of course varies across models, the trucks get pretty big ;) These parts consist of their softer skin as well as silky carbon fiber, pretty durable mind you. However despite all having the same organs, in a mating couple one is chosen to be the male and the other the female respectively. It would be unnatural for them both to carry young at the same time. Also remember they only mate with their own make and model(for the time being in 2002-2017, again I’ll still continue further in my story in the future). So there is no definitive male or female but they can either appear/behave as masculine or feminine. That’s the main reason for my characters being masculine (I swear it was somebody’s fault on here for making me embarrassingly gay XD).
The leaders in each clan converse and plan with each other, where to hunt next, which borders need to be patrolled more often, how to defend against human attacks. One of their least favorite topics is around how many deaths of the alternatives in the clan are caused by human cause. They are persistently hunted down and trapped by humans. The police force had recently started to group up against solo rebel alternatives and would smash them off the road. It seemed their favorite method for killing was either lighting them on fire after rendered immobile or ripping them apart. These police officers were also equipped with EMP(ElectroMagneticPulse) that could shut down the computers and engine of an alternative and stunning them, rendering them unable to move. Four times a year, the leaders of each clan met to discuss territory and other things over a sort of truce. However, some clans chose not to attend these, either feeling intimidated by other brands or seeing it as unnecessary.
You will see more of the hierarchy in action when I go along Blackout’s storyline. Thanks for reading my walls of text!

Very nice model structure you've set up. I dig the hatchbacks being the real all-rounders of the gangs. No real strengths or weaknesses, able to exist in a pretty comfortable balance. I'd definitely want to come across a group of them and blend in XD <3
Despite their supposed intelligence, I'm interested in this primal lifestyle your machines all appear forced to live. It must be murder on the animal population having all these vehicles out cleaning shop. It'd be quite a sight to see, though.
Have you put much thought into how reproduction works for them? How long does it take for their young to develop, and is there much difference between a car from a factory and one born from alternatives?

Oh yes, these vehicles are very capable of taking down all sorts of prey, however their population barely compares to that of human, something I’ve failed to mention. There territory also covers quite a distance, mainly 30-100+ miles wide(depends on the numbers), so this allows even hunting routines in different areas. Their population is also cut off from being hunted by humans and killed as well, but these alternatives are very deadly up against humans as well, with brings me to my next point. Even if the wildlife population doesn’t suffice, they could always chow down on the mostly weak and defenseless humans, this also keeps other humans away with fear as well( this is looked down upon in the humans who have supported them). As for usual numbers in a clan, the largest amounts are mainly sedans, hatchbacks, and SUVs, should number in about 500 or more. This also varies by region too, tougher terrain holds a much higher percent of trucks and SUVs while flat lands have many sports cars, sedans are still the majority on less extremes though.
In a usual manufacturing production in today’s world, a few hundred can be built in a day. This is very different in alternatives. It takes around 3-4 days to fully assemble in a very similar manufacturing process. Even though this is much slower, keep in mind there are multiple being made during the same time. This sounds very cost inefficient for the company right? Not entirely wrong, in most vehicles their prices are higher but they were in much more popular demand, especially with ECS equipped after the rebellion. As you all know, people like to flaunt their money power.
For natural breeding for alternatives, the process is much longer compared to the manufacturing process. Much like humans their young grow within the womb. Their structures are much more complex so it takes time. They can carry 8-11 months, depending on the model. Smaller alternatives such as sports and sedans take a very short amount of time while larger vehicles like trucks and SUVs develop longer. Now in the case of natural breeding, they are born without much of an electronic system until some parts develop later on. The important structures are built by then, like wheels(tire tread forms within the first month), the motor, and a supportive chassis and rear end. The motor is formed but is not quite able to perform, within the first month within birth they are kept in camp under their mothers care. During this time they do not eat food but have important necessities needed by every car, such as oil and fuel. They are born without some human effects, like having no radio system, wiper blades, or seats in some cases, however sometimes they get these added back to still blend in. I’ve mentioned before that the skin is inherited, but they are unable to harden it until 4 months of age. As they grow bigger, their suspension and electronic bonds grow stronger allowing them to drive and eat more foods. They are classed as teens within 2 years and adults in 4, all the while their power and agility strengthens.

I was actually looking at that a few days ago, wondering. I’m surprised you pointed it out. It’s sounds like the 2019 LD has made a loophole because looks like the 3rd generation but is technically built as a fourth generation Silverado, but after all debate they are still third gen. It was actually the company’s choice to continue the third generation in 2019 by building the Silverado LD, you can look this up too. This was also done with the 1st and 2nd gen as well with the Chevy Silverado 1500. So to answer your question they would breed with the 3rd Gen Silverado(2013-2018).
Holy fuck I’m laughing my ass off because you worded it like that XD.
Since they are all in the same generation they are allowed to fuck around with each other, 2016 was just a face lift. However, some of the trucks may just prefer one look over the other, so it’s fine if a 2013 breeds with a 2016.

Haha, bro XD
Aight, so the reason they eat, as intended by humans, is to improve mileage and such, so it’s like an alternative fuel sorta. The food they eat is burned up, much like the natural gasoline they consume. Now you are probably all like, “wtf that’s not how engines work, putting food in a motor would fuck it up completely”, but it’s my universe so ha. And their motor being more adaptive with being part organic and such, but still has like a block, pistons, and all that wonderful mechanical jazz. Cuz it ain’t a true car if it ain’t thumping under the hood ;)
P.s. please do not put actual food in your real car. Things happen. Bad things.
But otherwise, if you’d rather think of them with what we got, that’s up to you. That’s just the way I see it. Whatever floats yo boat.
