's little Totodile, Shiny, getting a hug and pats from a baby Lugia. I didn't draw the headphones because they got in the way of the pats XD But I did draw the kerchief :) The gold sun in the background represents Pokemon Gold, while Lugia represents Pokemon Silver :)This was incredibly fun and cute to draw ^^ Lots of round shapes and thick lines to make it look more cartoony. Instead of using a thicker brush I just like drew over the lines again making it take way too long lol I should be smarter ^^;

Thanks again, Ness. I also think that it turned out pretty sweet. Also again very generous of you to arrange the raffle and to share some of your time and efforts to send me a smile. I hope that you got to have a fun time with the project. ^_^
Fun enough, Shiny already got to babysit a baby Lugia before. One of his dudes brought one in and asked to take care of him until their family would be back. Shiny, while smaller than Lugia, of course had a lot of fun with keeping the lil dude company. It was quite the sweet time together, even if it could get a bit difficult for Shiny to move about whenever the baby treated him like their personal Cuddledile. 💙
Both of the Pokékiddos look rather lovely and small here. I especially think their facial expressions turned out nicely here. The cellshaded areas have a neat charm to them with their handpainted inclusion, adding to a more happy kids book illustration style for this one. The inks were inserted with the same varied and interesting charm to them.
Proportion-wise they both have a need roundish look with focus on their head and body shapes, which adds to the petite-effect. In the process admittedly though it seems like that the limbs are partly a bit short, like Shiny's arms in particular feel like if they'd be folded far to the back.
The legs also have a shorter feel on both Pokémon and have the feet pointing in somewhat funny angles.
What feels in line with the small look are the little thought bubbles. Overall though a constant theme in case it is a conscious decision to go in line with the other features, creating a somewhat chibi-esque vibe.
The only part of an outline that I'd feel is slightly questionable in this one, is a (assumably) missing outline for one of Lugia's arms below his beak, which gt fully filled out here as covered by the arm. though that wouldn't be possible with the way the shoulder flows here. As for the blue tailplates on Lugia, I just guess they aren't there because of the idea that they need to grow into place later yet.
All in all, a lovely and very cuddly illustration that delivers the peaceful and friendly playtime between two lovable Pokémon. While there are a few smaller things that could be improved, I majorly think you executed the happy idea well, Ness. =3

Hey thanks so much for the concrit <3
You are right about the missing line for Lugia's arm -- When drawing it I thought it made more sense for it to not be there (like as if his whole arm was in that empty spot) but now that you mention it, it defintiely doesn't make sense. I will probably fix that part :) I need to take time to look away and then look back upon something so I can notice stuff like that better -- I did this all at once and when you're staring at something too long, some mistakes can start to look like they're supposed to be there.
I was going for a very childlike look with them which explains some of the stuff like shorter limbs I guess. As for the other stuff it's just things I still need to get better at like proportions and angles and stuff. Especially of limbs and stuff being in the right spots I'm not so good at it (hence the wonky feet).

Ah, you're totodily welcome, dude. 🎈(~.=.o)
Yeah, the thing with lugia's arm is that the arm would first flow down the shoulder and since the handpaw/wing is resting on top of Shiny's head, it would from there flow in an arc upwards, though can't the arm be behind the shoulder in that case.
With Shiny, I guess it was like the first thing that caught my attention, that his arms sticked out in a way that he'd be unable tograb around his own body front, like how it is with some plushtoys. In a toony sense one can of course guess that his arms might be stretchy and then snap into a short range each time he doesn't move them, though that's just speculating of course. =3

Wanna add that it has been supernice and lovely from your side to do the little extra edits here. Adding the tail plates, changing the arms on Shiny as well as the shoulder gap of Lugia's arm. The result is stunning and not only balances out the characters' feel in terms of their body proportions, but also adds additional shift in terms of weight and physics here.
Now you can pretty much get a feel of hos Lugia is wrapping their one wing around Shiny's armwhile also leaning slightly against the turquoise Dile, letting one big hand rest on his head and pushing him slightly to the front. At the same time you get how Shiny is balancing out the posture of his upper body in correspondence to his lower half, having it tilted to his left to gaze back to his slightly bigger Babydude.
As said, great art and I dare say totodily awesome not just in the final execution but also in terms of a superice communication. I thank you lots, Ness, and hope you will rest well tonight.
I'm sure in terms of these two jolly Poképals that they will enjoy a fun playtime yet. Likely that Shiny will do silly things yet like blowing some bubbles from his snout or bring out a balloon that the lil Lugia and him can play with. It's all very heartwarming to imagine and I guess that I will sleep well tonight either regarding the dreamy imagery that your illustration work is inspiring me already towards inside my late time daydreams. (-^.=.^-)

Still enjoying this illustration lots. Always loving the adorable meetups between Shiny and some of the Legendaries and Mythicals and since Baby Lugia here is such a cuddling friend it always feels extra precious.
I'm already excited for when I can see your revised illustration of Shiny and Celebi getting finished. Looking forward to what you can share with me soon. ^_^

Thanks for all your support and kind words :) I still haven't started the new version yet in sketches (I did do a little scribble of a Totodile though, getting those proportions down is tough :P ) but I've been re-imagining a good angle for it. I liked the side-on angle because you could see both Pokemon equally but it made it look kinda stiff? So I'm still thinking it over.
Plus I haven't drawn in quite some time so getting back into it in general is rough TAT
