Dhuiltu the Orc
Happy Saint Patrick's Day! To celebrate, I uploaded Dhuiltu.
Dhuiltu's major traits is his bloodline and the discrimination he's faced his whole life. The word "Dhiultu" means Rejected/Denied in the Irish language and the reason he got that name was because his father was one of the Tuatha Dé Danann and his mother was a Fomorian. After his father was executed because of this taboo sex act, Dhiultu has been hated and ostracized by the people of Ireland not just because of his beastly, ugly appearance but also because of his Fomorian blood, so was thrown into the sea expecting him to drown but due to Fomorians being giants of the sea, he survived and made it back on land to live in the wild. When he was old enough to walk, he wandered around for a while, barely sentient and incapable of understanding his surroundings and of course nothing of his origins.
He wandered into a dark forest and gradually learned to understand parts of his surroundings. This included the discovery of food poisoning which, after a brief incident where he learned raw meat and potateos is bad for one's health, he grew to appreciate and carefully cooked them with fire.
Orcs will fight anyone and everyone for no real reason. Orcs die all the time because life is war to them. So to make up for their high mortality, they fuck... ALOT. Fucking happens that even though hundreds of orcs die in battle, hundreds more take place. They are NOT smart as according to folklore, If they see a shooting star before war, they need to eat rocks. One clear characteristic about Dhiultu is that he's not like the other orcs in folklore. For one, he's extremely intelligent and functions by way of scientific and survival method as oppose to Religious and Tribal: observe, hypothesize, test, repeat.
Rather than interacting with the Tuatha Dé Danann, knowing what it can lead to, he would lurk in the forest and observe them, in which time he learns to speak perfect English and discovering the origins of how he came to be. Also, he would pop in the community library unnoticed and read all these manuscripts detailing not only Ireland's culture but all of the world in general. How big the realm is, Jungles, Deserts, the Sea, he wants to travel the world and figure out what he's been missing out on.
Never knowing where he was from, he didn't know anything about the war and had no idea why he was rejected as he raised himself. Naturally as he grew older, he became more curious to the identity of his kind and when he found out about his origins and what had happened to him, he would of course resent the Tuatha Dé Danann but at the same time, the loneliness was slowly crushing him and knows that they are the closest he has to interaction. Also, the Fomorians would never allow him in their home as the Tuatha Dé Danann. This somewhat relates back to the idea of orcs being a lustful tribe, however Dhiultu's other contrast is that he's not after sex but compassion.
