"Past initiatives to use food surpluses to promote population growth seem to have the unintended side effect of also well… growing the population in another sense. While an increase of food consumption was predictable, as the VFNAM made food accessible for all citizens for practically no cost the only limit on consumption was a matter of what is wanted rather than what could be obtained.
Both the rate of consumption and subsequent drastic changes to the physique of the general populace was not expected. Average consumption more than doubled now reaching over an average of 4,200 calories a day, and 94.7% of Flouves reported being overweight, 58.4% being obese and severe obesity rates reaching 23.7%.
Average flouvian height has seen a rise by 5%, more than a doubling of waist size, and body mass has risen by over 290%, while this statistic is partially skewed by the population of flouves who are massive outliers to the distribution many of which fall in the 1,200 pound range. Mean weight, a more representative measure of typical flouves has risen by 214% from 165 lbs to 354lbs.
In light of the changes to the flouvian population, measures to further automate physical labor are now to be prioritized, with plans to fully automate physical labor in order to deal with the massive shortage of physically capable personnel in the workforce as well as a spike in demand for personnel servitor droids." - Director of the Vendrian Foundation in “The Side Effects of the Vendrian Full Nutrition Access Mandate of 2235”
So pretty much right after I made a design for Flouves I went ahead and made then fat x3
In my defense, Stellaris does have a handful of things that are very easy to interpret in a fatty context. For example, a policy that increases food consumption in order to speed up the rate your population increases (which so happens to be what this pic is based on/inspired by).

Oh yeah, I'm a pretty big fan of Stellaris! I had been meaning to do something with this species that I typically play for a while, especially after seeing
Kikatsu and their Stellaris species stuff (along with the occasional fat art with it) and getting inspired to something myself.
I'm really glad to hear that you are like them so far! And like I said in the post there are a few fun ways to do fat things inspired by in-game stuff, so it's safe to say there'll be plenty of fatness going on as I continue to flesh the flouves out (in more ways than one x3).
