I believe they were actually more geared towards Utahraptors. I'm pretty sure that was the type of raptor they used for looks, but they called them Velociraptors in the movie because they thought the name sounded more awesome. Which is true, really. But yeah. A lot of people don't realize that real velociraptors were rather small in comparison to the movie even if they're larger than in the illustration here. :p
Even still, if they were larger than they were in the piece here, they still wouldn't be nearly the size from the movie.
(heres a good size comparison of the Utah raptor)

(and a Deinonychus just for the heck of it)

That is true. While there still is no conclusive proof that raptors had feathers. There has been evidence of certain species having feathers or feather-like structures. I'm not sure if it was over the entire body or anything. I need to do more research on this again. I'm just basing this on things I've read in the past. So, I don't know if there's any new evidence for or against it. I would be more inclined to believe something like that for the smaller raptor species than the larger ones. Feathers and the like are great for insulation, making it more useful for the smaller species to keep warm where as it's easier for a larger creature to keep warm in general. I need to do more research again. :p
Hmm... these actually look a little small to be velociraptors.
Velociraptor was about 6 feet long, but these look more like 3 or 4 feet. Gosh, which dromaeosaurids were in that length range?
It seems like there were so many either less than three feet long, or around Velociraptor to Deinonychus size, or Utahraptor size, but none 3-4 feet long.

If you're referring to Sinornithosaurus, a study conducted by Gianechini et al. (2010) found that the same teeth which were previously proposed to have "venom channels" were actually just loose teeth that slid out of their sockets. Additionally, it was found that the same grooves are featured by the teeth of other dromaeosaurs, but those grooves are usually hidden by the socket. Therefore, Sinornithosaurus did not possess a venomous bite.

That one raptor on the counter who is eating the kid's hair reminds me of how my cats use to do the same thing to my parents and I whenever we sat on the couch to watch television. It makes me melt because I think that raptor looks so adorable and silly by doing that to the kid.
The size of those Velociraptors also reminds me a lot about how the playful baby Velociraptor mongoliensis was described in the original Jurassic Park Novel.
Speaking of the book, the giant raptors were actually supposed to have been Deinonychus antirrhopus. Michael Crichton even went on record to explain that he chose to refer to the larger raptors in Jurassic Park by the name Velociraptor antirrhopus (a synonym of Deinonychus that preceded the book) simply because he thought the genus name Velociraptor seemed "more dramatic" than Deinonychus. This was also mentioned by the novel itself through its character dialogue.
