I broke 2 of the plastic skid-plates on the sides of the chassis thinking i had more ground clearence in a pot-holed parking lot, there are times when it feels like a truck I mean..lol.

Nice G8! I wanted to trade in my GP GXP for a G8 GXP but with Pontiac being dissolved I'll just have to keep what I have now for a while.

According to the current motortrend gm is trying to get the g8 platformed car back as a premium chevy sports sedan in limited numbers, seems the higher-ups still love the car;)

That's cool! Why shouldn't they? The G8 is beautiful! I just hope they keep it the same or make it better. Because the Monte Carlo SS was supposed to be the "same" as the Grand Prix GXP. They do in fact have the same engine but Chevy really skimped on the other parts like the brakes, tires and quite a few of the other niceties.

Actually, it's closer to $16,000 private party value. Trade-in value is $13,000 for "good" condition according to kbb. The GXP model retains more of its value than the base and GT models due to the low production numbers.

Ah. Well listing the optional equipment that was listed (not a complete list), mileage and condition for it also raises their estimate to about $14,000 private party value. I do prefer kbb though as they list all of the options available on the car and not just some. My guess is it would probably be around the same value if all of the optional equipment was available to be selected on Edmund's.

Not a bad car at all. My every day car is a 95 Jeep Cherokee Sport with the 4.0L high output I6 with 4x4. It's a great car. A It has 178,000 miles on it, though it will easily run to 500,000. A 95 Ford Aerostar with 290,000 miles on it. It runs like it is still new. I used to use it for traveling, but now I use it mainly for hauling things. I have a 06 Chevy Tahoe for traveling and camping. Then my fun car is a 75 Corvette Stingray convertible. Its the last year they made it convertible. In 76 they switched to the T tops. Regular convertible Corvettes weren't available again till the late 80's.

It's actually quite surprising how much power it has for being a "family car". The HUD is also really nice since you never have to take your eyes off of the road to see your speed. TAP shift is always fun to play with as well. Displacement on Demand is also very nice for long trips. Saves quite a bit on gas.

Always liked Stingrays, the body style was one of my favorite for Corvette.

lol I love the GXP but the thing is so much more like a muscle car, where as the GTP or GT are more light and easier to turn haha

Hehe, yeah I really love it when people drive up next to me and in stuff like mustangs and rev their engines and crap and then get dusted because they don't expect the GXP to have that much power lol. I can go up to 50 in first gear with the tap shift lol.
