Continuing with my creature creations. :)
Between the time of Episode 1 - 3, I ended up designing a bunch of alien species that were used in various RPGs, for friends as personas and the like.
Recently, I decided to bring them up and have a go at them once again.
Another character form the good ol' days of Star Wars RPG.
This is Amay-rum Gabir.
Amay-rum belongs to an old friend of mine back in my high school days. I created him as a “Star Wars” persona for my friend. Originally, he was not so much a quadruped, but Bi-pedal, and he had bottom-protruding tusks from his jaw (an example can be seen in my “Star Wars” folder). This changed when I was re-designing the concept to be a little more anatomically-functional than just having random diddly-bops and doo-hickies.
Amay-rum Gabir is the Padawan to Bat-gouah Jabi.
Normally, he should have his hair trimmed in a “mowhawk” fashion (Padawan style), but for the purposes of his design, I let him grow out his mane. XD
The “Big Brother” of the group.
If my friend is still around and about, he should get some of the “inside references” I made when coming up with the species. And some people might get the name references as well. :)
Scroll to the bottom to figure out what 3 animals were [dominantly] used to create this species.

Species: Zukov
Specialty: All purpose terrain
Locomotion: Quadrapedal [digi-grade] and Bipedal.
Biology:
The “Jeep” of alien species, the Zukovs are renown for their adaptation to all terrains for all purposes. Their physical biology and evolution has given them a wide range of attributes that leaves very little limitation to their adaptability skills.
The Zukovs poses both the capacity for Quadrapedal and Bipedal function for long periods of time. This meaning that they can walk upright to avoid floods, swamps, or situations that are dangerous for low head postures- or walk downright to sprawl out weight, better stability in unbalanced terrain, or crouching-hunting tactics. When faced with an impending battle or threat, Zukov’s naturally rise on their hind legs and presume to make hand-to-hand battle with their front limbs.
Their massive size is an asset when combined with their maneuverability- mainly because of their under-body legs/limbs joints and not sprawled position. This leaving them to be well grounded and balanced like a tank, but swift in carrying their own weight.
Another asset to their maneuverability is their rotatable joints, coupled with their muscle mass. While large in bulk- not in beef- the large number of muscles means more power to the strikes, blows, and movements of limbs that have a wide capacity of reaching, grabbing, throwing, climbing, and twisting.
Another asset in battle would be the middle finger claw. Measuring longer than the others on the hand, the middle claw on the Zukov’s hand is dominantly used for digging and fighting.
An interesting physiological attribute is the yellowing of the pupil when angry/agitated. This gives a ghostly look to the eyes when in combat, and a frightening disposition to an opponent.
Females are larger, bulkier, and sport two miniature horns behind their ears, atop their heads- No specific functional purpose in combat. Females are noted to have mammary glands similar to humans, and for the same function of feeding offspring.
Lastly, the most remarkable attribute would be the “beard” all Zukov’s have. This “beard” is not hair but actually a group of sensitive environmental detection whiskers. Zukov’s are very sensitive to temperature changes, humidity, and air circulations due to these whiskers that act as a body-regulation device. If it’s in the atmosphere, it will be detected by the Zukov- once again making the race very valuable in terrain scouting and premonitory weather conditions.
The only deficit is the immense amount of energy that is needed to supply one individual to function for those long periods of time in a state of consistent physical movement. Hydration is imperative.
Colors:
Colors are deep greens to deep blue-greens. Originally, the color would be a determinate factor to environmental location of the familial group. Zukov’s home planet is predominantly swamp, marsh, and jungle. Deeper blue colors were most common in swamps, while deeper green colors to the jungle. Oddly, no group that lived in plain areas, or deserts, were recorded to vary from the aforementioned colors- this can be hypothesized that dessert and plains habitation came later as the race evolved.
Life span:
120 standard years. Zukov reach full physical maturity between the ages of 24-30. However, Jedi training will continue well into the late 20’s.
Fighting skills:
Mostly hand to hand combat is preferred. Their massive bulk and their fast maneuverability allows Zukovs to deliver blows, throws, punches, and bone crushing smashing to opponents. Their affixed balance makes them hard to over-throw or pin down. Lightsaber battle is also used, however left secondary if the situation cannot be resolved by physical means. Some Zukovs are renown for their immediate physical responses- such as Amay-rum Gabir- who will drolly refer to his lightsaber as “The thing that decorates my belt”.
Temperament:
Calm when comfortable, easily irritated by discomfort, and highly temperamental if agitated.
Female Zukov are traditionally larger then males. Matrilineal dominant society. This did not changed after republic contact, and plays no part in Jedi circles.

Note: This creature is a mix of 3 animals (dominantly).
For those who don't want to guess the answer is as follows:
Gorilla, Bear, and Giant Anteater.
