She was a pure changeling back in pre-war Equestria times, she got "infected" by a parasite during the mega spell attacks on canterlot , she and her sister did die that day when their jewelry shop collapsed on them,.After being dormant for years she woke up to find she was brought back to life by the parasite and all the pink mist and magical radiation still around. She was a ghoul now, but her body was completely mangled and broken, so the parasite used the biomass from a nearby giant Rad-scorpion and incorporated into the form that is common to her like in the picture here, and yes she can still shape change but it's very wonky to say the least xP
Yeah, She was living in a hive located on the outskirts of Equestria with her sister, since they had massive gem mine right under them they were a peaceful colony that used that resource to help with Equestria war effort, but then the zebra attacked them a good part of the hive was lost and they had to abandon their home, they were given refuge in canterlot where the remaining members of the hive where acclimated into the general populace through the ministry of image , with new identities
Well. She can hide it to an extent. but it's not perfect. taking any form could now show many signs of ghoulifcation for sure so she has to be mind full of that.
