I've had a most insane last couple of weeks. First off, every job I had applied to and had interviewed for fell through. This left me back at square one when it came to my employment goals. Fortunately, though, dilegent efforts over these past couple of weeks have not only re-supplied me with opportunities, but also netted me a job interview on the 22nd! *Flutters* Gaboo!
Amidst all this, I managed to get what now seems to be my annual, March head-cold. The bugger hit me last Wednesday and, to this very moment, is still holding on with every last breath it can muster. Though, whether it likes it, or not, I am expecting it to fully be gone by tomorrow. After all, I have Star Day plans to finish and TONS of submissions and e-mails to get caught up on. This said, please foregive me for my recent lack of follow-up. I promise to get back on the ball here ASAP.
On creative news, I finally managed to get all my Query Letters out on behalf of my most recent publication attempt, Welcome to Saurral Manor[/i]. Again, it was my attempt at getting my lovable haposaurs noticed by the public at large for their cute antics and clever adventures. Currently, I've been turned down by six of the ten Lit Agents I found who were actively looking for such work. Despite this, I am confident that there could be a winner amongst the final four. If not, I have yet one more trump card to play before I give my happy haposaurs a break and try my hand at another project. :)
ARTS:
This kind of goes with the stuffs above. However, my wife got a really nice job interview today. As she interviewed, I waited in the car and used the light of an over-cast sky coupled with my special, super-ultra-mega magnifying glasses and a 20 / 20 pen to put the sketches together that you see above all this glorious text. :)
Here's how it breaks down.
Upper Left
Baby Duck
It's spring, it's cute, I couldn't help myself but to draw it. :)
Upper Right
Cooni Wannabe
I've been trying to draw the cunning raccoon from Nishi's Quick and the Angry[/i]. However, as usual, I failed. Rather than scrapping the attempt, though, I decided to see where I could go with it and made this fellow who is making a fair attempt at cosplaying the part.
Middle Right
New Terra Symbol
My haposaurs are actually part of a much larger world. In this world there exists a prominent country known as Terra. This symbol is what the country uses after it is forced to rebuild after the events that occur at the end of my first manuscript. The sequel story this is from begins 100+ years later.
Lower Left
Captain Lithium DeVana
Primary hero of my first manuscript. He is depicted here in his classic, battle attire ready as ever to charge bravely, or foolishly, into battle.
Bottom Middle
Mystery Fox
I was attempting to draw Bo Foxtrot, a character from my next big effort, Project: Ezil[/i]. However, I failed and decided to just finish the image as best as possible. Like Bob Ross says, "Happy mistakes."
Bottom Right
Haposaur Story Logo
I'm a sucker for symbols. This is how, if published, I'd like to have readers identify that the book they are buying is a genuine, haposaur story. :)

May you all have a great day! If you read this, I hope that you found it all both informative and fun.

<LoL!> I've never had my replies spoken of in such a delightful, sci-fi sort of way. :)
As for the interviews, I'm quite stoked at how not only I had one, but so did my wife. This means that, for the first time in months, we both are actually in contention for employment. Kazootles! I used to think finding a job in administration was rough, but trying to find an open, Social Studies position in secondary education is even harder. Yeesh!
Mr. DeVana was the first human character I learned to draw. As the haposaur story evolves, his name gets mentioned a fair bit as he and the hapos did have a number of unique encounters. Truth be told, the story of the hapos is more of a "sequel" to my initial manuscript. However, as it was easier to write about the hapos than go back and fix over 200+ pages of single-spaced writing, I opted to stick with cute and thoughtful over mystical and action-packed for the time being. :)
Kazootles! *Looks up* I see what you mean about a 60 foot reply. *Shrugs* Whoops!

What a cool collection of doodles! :D I'm glad you were able to make use of some sitting-around time for some neat visuals. (:
The spring ducky looks really happy. I think you're really good at the excited, cheery characters like this! It reminds me of the other happy yoshi and ducky diapered dudes ya've drawn so well. :3
Haha, and I thought the guy in the corner looked kinda like Cooni or Kamui, but I wasn't sure til I read the description. (: I think it came out good too! It might be different, but I think the differences in art are what makes each picture fun to see. :3
I remember I used to be into doodling symbols for a while too. X3 But now I seem all obsessed with characters and stuff... but logos and marks like that're still fun now and then. :3
It's also cool seeing what you had in mind for not-druggy Lithium! I kind of imagined him as Obi Wan Kanobi in the third StarWars movie, with shorter hair and all. I should have figured a long-haired, armored dude like you'd see in other fantasy games and stories would be more suitable. X3
And Bo! Even if it didn't come out like you'd hope, it's nice to see something that was supposed to be her. (:
Yay for doodles! Bwuhah~
Also, I wasn't expecting your Star Day for another month or too! Eep. X3 Cant' wait. :D And it's on a humpday no less!

Hurray! I'm glad you liked the fun collection of doodles. I largely took advice from you and Frisky when I did it and just kind of let my mind take me where it felt like whilst the wife was interviewing. Good times!
I can't believe Star Day is almost here either. Though, if I might, I do have a question I'd like to ask in regard to it...
How do you make links that say the names of things instead of reading out all "http://.."? I have a fun idea, but haven't quite mastered the titled link trick that I need to pull it all off. :)

Baw! Sorry to hear about the cold but on the other hand I'm glad to see that you're still trying really hard in various areas of life. Once again, I'm hoping either you or your wife has a successful job interview and lands a new job shortly thereafter. Also, it would be fantastic if you get your haposaurs published and forever ingrained in the public conscious. Then I could say that I knew the guy who came up with that great idea! hehe
On another note, I don't think I've seen much cosplay art! Hehe, I laughed but there definitely needs to be more Q&A fan art out there.

Agreed. The only place I have seen any is on DA via Nishi's page and, sadly, it is quite sparse considering the amount of attention his work gets.
On another note, I appreciate the well wishes and am eager to share any great news as son as I get it.
In the meantime, here's to our fun series and getting ever better at what we love to do so much. :)
