Oh a magic type! I was about to ask what the blindfold was about. Is it so she can be better in tune with the universe?

Traditionally shamans were using blindfold to get into and stay in a trance state more easily and get visions.
For her there's also a second reason: she has severe neurological problems due to sensory overload from her brain-computer interface.
Her eyes can't adjust to the light at all and even in darker places she will have seizure after some time of using her eyesight so blindfold offers protection against that.
On the other hand, having brain-computer interface and proper satellite communications equipment (like here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/35514361/) is like having
thousands of eyes in the sky, all at once. Originally it was meant for less overwhelming applications, like connecting to factory's SCADA and CCTV systems to directly feel reading of every sensor in industrial installation, and controlling things like robot arms and overhead cranes as easily as own limbs.
