Gods & Monsters
Harbinger: Xal'ya Fortunes Folly
Race: Arakkoa
Class: Clairvoyant
Alignment: Evil
Information: Between Zephrum and the Diamond Desert stretches a rugged expanse of red rock canyons known as the Wandering Reach. Despite the arid appearance the expanse is dotted with an assortment of oasis where many different tribes, nomads and traders work and live. One such tribe, the Arakkoa have established a permanent settlement of adobe houses and shops built into the walls of a twisting canyon. Known the world over as experts in mystical arts, they are sought out by travelers from all walks of life to purchase potions, talismans and wisdom. Though the arakkoa are welcoming it is known they are somewhat odd, and worship their own unusual pantheon of deities, chief among them is a multi headed being simply known as The Calamity. Xal'ya is said to be the oldest, wisest and most powerful of the Arakkoa. Her skills in divination are legend. Kings, merchants and peasants alike seek her scrying powers and Xal'ya is more than willing to oblige. Xal'ya is said to be hundreds, maybe even thousands of years old, a devotee to The Calamity, she claims grants her powers. Xal'ya's prophetic visions are always accurate though with all magic there is a slight catch. Xal'ya never asks for gold and treasure as payment, no instead the cost, is one year of her patrons life per each question asked. The unwary will frivolously ask question after question, not realizing that the fortune tellers cost is indeed real. And for every question, she earns another year of life, while the asker inches closer to death. On rare occasions Xal'ya will turn her customers away, as she informs them they haven't enough time to pay her price.
