"... no I'm pretty sure those are dresses, by definition."
"No I'm pretty sure they are not... except that guy over there, that's a dress."
After the body jump is a success and Sairy relearns how to walk, they get to visit the Carlik homeworld, a place most civilizations in the galaxy don't even know exists.
The Carlik don't like visitors, they prefer to mind their own business on their cybertrash planet, watching netflix and chilling until their special, species-wide psionic ability gives one of them a blip of fourth-dimensional sight that the entire species also sees in their mind.
That's what drove Fek to make the Feknin to begin with, he had a vision that he would be the last of his kind (more specifically, it was a vision of him saying the words "And that's how I became the last of my kind"), a vision that drove his people into a brief panic, followed by them experiencing fear whenever they saw him. Their visions are always true.
Fek tries to find a way to "fix" the problem by becoming a different species that he designs, ultimately with the goal of outliving them. Of course his project goes horribly wrong when the original Nine find a file in his terminal stating that he was going to kill them all... but not knowing that they were not supposed to be sentient, and now that they are, he had a change in plans.
So they abandon him on a planet he can't get off of, stealing his technology and trapping him there for 400 years while trying to kill him periodically by sending one of themselves over on a suicide mission once they learn they can set the terminal they stole to save their memories and minds and have it reprint a new body and insert them into it if they die, essentially allowing them to "respawn" and making them immortal... which is how they become the "Gods" to the Feknin.
Other than that, the Carlik are basically a bunch of squishy shrimp/squid people with ridiculously advanced tech and no desire to leave their homeworld.
A bunch of weird nerds that never go outside.
