Okay, I hope this was intentional because it makes it much more interesting and more of a cover than a karaoke version, but you know that the verses aren't being sung on the melody right? You're singing on a harmony line. Again, it sounds cool and changes the song a bit which really is the point of a cover. By the way, I totally love the Cranberries.
One of the things that bugged me when I played this song was that I was using the main melody as a but of a "solo", and it just sounded like I was using the same riff for everything. The harmony line felt a bit more natural with the way I play the song...and it's where my voice settled once I decided I didn't want to sing the normal melody ^^.
