Hey guys it's another one for the month and at this time when I write this, alot of crazy things are going down in town. With the corona virus and the COVID-19 alerts happening, we can only stay safe. Regardless, I hope everyone is in good spirits. Now, on with the review!
Black Label Trading Co. Green Hornet:
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano Maduro (Viso)
Binder: Jalapa (Nicaragua)
Filler: Nicaraguan (Two ligeros)
Pre-Light/Construction:
Like the Killer Be, it was pretty much the same in presentation except by size and the Candela Wrapper at the foot. The scent was a little tamer. The band itself was the same dark brooding look like the killer bee, except the hornet and the name change. The head was still the same bee butt. XD Let's light it up regardless!
The Burn Part 1:
Some sweet little notes started it off due to the candela wrapper at the foot. With it along the sweet notes come a bit of spice. Not like black pepper, but more or a zesty pepper note. Something a bit different from my taste buds. This was a damn nice start for the ending evening. I had my tablet and did some doodles for the first review. Mainly distracted by some rowdy customers. I eventually got it done. Soon some roasted nuts notes came into play for more of a breakfast theme scenario in my taste buds. So far the body started out pretty medium to near full.
The Burn Part 2:
As the stick went down some of the body immediately started to elevate, but not too much. Mainly a hint of the sweet notes still lingered around a bit. The pepper notes however got a little bit more complex and stirred away from the zesty notes. Eventually some Leather notes soon came into play for a little more strict tones that pretty much say this cigar has your balls by the grip, not too much to the point of ripping it off. So far, it's still heavy handed in body, but the flow is still great.
The Burn Final:
As the sick was nearing the end, the notes started to back down a bit. I eventually purged it to reveal some of the notes changed a bit. The pepper became zesty again, while the leather notes were back and forth from light to dark. The roasted nut notes disappeared completely. A bit of a different turn was where I had more energy from something this heavy. Maybe I've smoked alot of heavy body cigars to the point where it doesn't affect me as it usually does. As the final notes came to an end it was main the low toned zesty pepper notes that eventually made the last flavor of the puff. As that ended I put it out in the ashtray which was practically full at this point from the rowdy customers who soon left. I eventually had some peace and quiet.
Verdict:
For me to say that a sting to the nuts from the killer bee was something to be prepared for, this was a little more of a sweeter and calmer verion, but still had a bit of an impact. Definitely something I would go for again as a bit of a desert cigar to end a nice meal.
