I found so many great rights-free reference photos during my initial Carolina Wren search, that I just had to do a second study. I continued to push into new understandings of process with this one (I was focusing on how far to take underpainting before starting in with opaques, at the time), and loved working on the tree stump! This one was 6" x 8" oil on panel.
