Darkness surrounded Diedrick as he slowly regained consciousness.
What happened? How long had he laid here?
No answers came except the ache in his body.
Moving to stand, his muscles screamed with each agonizing movement.
A fresh wave of pain hammers into his head and with a gasp, Diedrick dropped back to the ground.
Low whines slipped past his lips as he curled into himself trying to escape from the torment.
Where was Maul?
Normally the overbearing male would be quick to jab in with a snide comment but instead, his mind was silent.
The silence was almost as painful as the fire behind his eyes.
He cried out for Maul.
He cried out for his mother.
He cried out to the Blood Gods.
Anyone to save him!
Please!
Suddenly, he felt a tug of his mind.
For a brief moment, he grew hopeful of Maul returning but soon that turn to fear as the tugs grow stronger.
His body is paralyzed with dread as he feels something draws closer to the surface of his mind.
