There are many oddities and mysteries within the vast depths of the ocean. Even near the surface, you have many wondrous yet dangerous creatures; sharks, whales, even the well-known sea dragons, all of which have their various reputations throughout the world. But, go deeper and you may find others which you wouldn't have imagined existed. Deep down where light can no longer reach, various forms of life have adjusted to the oppressive darkness and water pressure of the deep. Most of these creatures are small, though recently there were some discovered that are much more monstrous in nature. Loud clicks and low, metallic rumbling can be heard in the darkness, long before the inky-black abyssal dragon becomes visible. With sharp hooks for teeth and scales that let it blend in with the darkness surrounding it, eyes adjusted to see in the dark, over 100 ft. in length and just under 50 ft. in height, he is the king of the deep. Most dragons are assumed to be curious, but exactly how well this applies to the newly discovered abyss dragon remains to be seen. Suddenly, within the pitch black darkness of the deep, the dragon's body lights up with all sorts of watery blue patterns running along his body. Of course, a dragon adapted to such deep waters would develop some form of bioluminescence. The question is, though, is this an attempt to communicate, or a final warning before he strikes?
After a spark of inspiration and a few interesting conversations with my mate
Valcyrie, I decided to make a sea dragon character for myself. But not just a standard sea dragon...I figured, since I hadn't seen one before, an abyssal sea dragon would be an interesting concept to try out. And now, we have Phasma Atrum, the abyss dragon, now showing off his beautiful bioluminescent patterns! I honestly love how his design turned out, and he turned out looking a lot better than I could have imagined him to!
