So, this is actually a Christmas gift from
serratia . But since it had such a lively and spring-y feel to it that posting it in mid winter felt wrong. So I decided to wait for Ostara, the spring equinox, which is today! God, I love this piece so much!~
So here we see Valcyrie the Sea Dragoness in her natural habitat. Behind her is her sweet and safe little cove where her family resides; but before her is the wild Atlantic. Endless vastness of massive blue waves, dark depths and a neverending horizon. With a mighty roar the waves crash against the boulders near the shore, sending cascades of silver high up into the sky, glittering in the spring sun. Val rears her head up into the sky. Her nostrils flare as she picks up the fresh west wind. Her frills flutter as they hone in on the Earth's magnetic field. Now that she's able to locate herself and her surroundings, she hurls herself into the waves, heading out. Will she get food for her family? Go on an adventure? Spread her wings and sail on the wind far and wide? Who knows, but thing thing is for sure: she never feels as alive as when the west wind blows in and the spring tide rolls in over her shore. I... am... alive..!~
This was a very very lovely artwork from from
leilryu who was commissioned by my friend
serratia as a gift to me.
Thank you so so much for the gift Serr dearest, and thank you for being patient with me wanting to wait with the upload. But now that spring is here, we're celebrating the equinox and the world is bubbling with life... this is when it feels right to post such a lovely gift. And thank you very very much to Isvoc for making such a wonderful and astonashing piece, really capturing me, the wild sea, my dragon home and the spirit of me in this picture.
