Outside Looking In - a Thursday Prompt
Sometimes I do not like myself, and yet this is where the story leads me, and I am compelled to do what I must.
My many thanks to a musician I do not know. I stumbled upon his song, and things just clicked. His name is Gregory Alan Isakov, and the song is 'The Stable Song'. You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqyAmmEkVvI
In all of the world, there is a balance. Sometimes, like now, things happen that we have no explanation for.
The wise men of the world will sit upon their thrones and pass judgement on such things, while the spiritual will sit upon their thrones and attempt to rationalize the event in a way that will say, 'God has spoken through them'.
Me... I've got other ideas, and I will only take credit for the singular belief that comes from this, attempting to sway no one.
Regards,
Vixyy

these are really wise words. in some legend, love is the sister of death. however, death is the beginning of another life.
I don’t know if death will come in your story, but I hope in your story love will not go unanswered. Is not a wolf a manifestation of nobility and loyalty to his chosen one or chosen one. in a positive manifestation of the character of the wolf.

*sigh* I s'pose I knew this day would come. Liquor and I don't really get along so those few times I've gone, ah, 'overboard' so to speak, tend to come back and haunt me. And there was this one port-o-call that I simply can't re-call. Every time someone mentioned it aboard ship, my crew mates would look at me and snigger. I was hopin' I'd done something whilst flush with giggle-water that would simply be embarrassing. Like dropping my britches and flagging at one of the local constables. You know... 'em-bare-assing'.
I never suspected I'd managed to snag a First Mate of my own.
Stay away from the rum, boys. It can cause a wicked case of 'spousal entrapment.'

Nicely done, ol' gal. I'm eager to meet this temptress.
Assuming I haven't already.

"Sometimes I do not like myself, and yet this is where the story leads me, and I am compelled to do what I must." -- a story that tells the author herself. I came across this. and this is a rather interesting phenomenon. when the characters become so alive that they react to events completely different from what they originally thought. and then a clear skeleton of the narrative is deformed, and a phoenix can be born from a sparrow ...
and isn't that wonderful?

That was quite sweet, in Insanity's own, twisted way - and its nice to see another who appreciates the sound of a good mandolin.
Having Bering and Mrs. Buns cameo at the end was a nice, unexpected touch too. I can only imagine how the rest of that night went.
I also regret to say I still have yet to pick up 'Catch 22', I'll follow through with that one day...

When I was in high school, you were not allowed to make a sound in study hall. I would never do my studies, I would read. I had Catch 22 on my desk and trying so very hard not to laugh and I hit this statement. 'Colonel Corn rose from his seat like a gigantic fart.'
I totally lost it and had to ask for a bathroom break.
Thanks for the kind words.

I personally love the Bilingual Bonus with Colonel Scheisskopfm, and to this day I compare things that are useless or worthless to Milo's Chocolate-covered Egyptian Cotton, especially when it comes to things in video games that you can't help but amass.
Also, MASH was the best adaptation of Catch-22 that didn't even involve the book.
