It was a sports arena but it was so close to the river it flooded quite often and all of the electrical was run under the main floor. This created so many issues that to attract Pro teams and large concerts they had to build a new stadium because the pyramid would cost too much to fix. The city leased the building to Bass Pro Shop and helped renovate it. Since then it attracts millions of people to the area and tourism dollars have poured in.
