Here the quarter per quarter description of the game between Fargo vs Texas:
Today is the day, where we will know if the Texas Ramblers will be able to defend their Furbowl crown or will the Fargo Axemen finally get to return to the main stage since the first ever Furbowl on the UFFL era. The MVP Calder against the ever so dangerous and Elite arm of Christina Carson. She and the stellar defense of the Axemen was able to silence the best team of the season last week, can they slay the defending champs? Were off in Texas!
First quarter seen Fargo get the ball first, but wasent able to get anything to go on their first possession. Then if was the Ramblers turn. Then on a 2nd and 10, at 11:30 on Texas 25 yard line, Calder took the snap...but then SACKED by Bert Dailey..as Calder also fumbled the ball! Fargo would recover by Roy McKenzie that went all the way to the endzone! Fargo defense strikes again! 7-0 Fargo. Ramblers fans who was in a frenzy quickly went silent. GM Jack Knight in his press box could be seen loosing his bag of mallows!
Soon the game resumed, as Texas was trying to shake things off. Then we seen Andrew Calder do what he does best. Taking alot of the clock off the quarter, The ramblers pushed into Fargo territory thanks in part to a big 35 yards reception from Milano. As moments later, Calder gets Milano again for a 15 yards touchdown catch to even things up at 7-7.
Fargo would soon try to recover. Carson looked to move the chains along until a 2nd and 5 pass was INTERCEPTED by Donald Menard!He would then run it back for 40 yards! Texas was not at Fargo doorstep again! Then would score on a Rit-Wicky rush to make it 14-7 Ramblers.
After a 36 yards kickoff return from Wisniewski, Fargo trying to move but loss a gamble trying to convert a 4th and 1...They will regret it. As soon as Calder get the first snap...He connected with Jacqueline Knight for 53 yards for another Touchdown! 21-7 Ramblers! This quarter going crazy!
But its even got crazier as on the kickoff, perhaps the Ramblers were still celebrating as Micheal Lockhart took the kickoff back for 97 yards kickoff return TOUCHDOWN! 21-14 Ramblers! Holy cow!
Mercifully the quarter was soon about done, but not before after the kickoff after the Lockhart touchdown Larry Napier was hurt on the play. After one quarter, 21-14 Ramblers.
Second quarter started as Carson nearly loss the ball on a fumble but recovered it. Then after a couple of possesions, Fargo would then proceed to grind the ball through the Texas territory thanks of Efren Frank into at 8:00 of the quarter, Fargo gains 3 points by a 37 yards field goal by Matt Souber. 21-17 Ramblers. Then on the kickoff, Artemis Milano tried to take it all the way with 42 yards. From then on out, the game became a little more rough.Both teams exchanged possesions, and also alot of Penalties from both ends as the tension was really high. then around 3:01 of the second quarter, Fargo managed to moved into Texas territory thanks to good field position until they would score another touchdown thanks to a rush of Adam Nelson for 10 yards. 24-21 Axemen.
There was then barely a minute left to the end of the quarter as the ramblers tried to make something at their 11 yard line. But seemed it was a big mistake as Calder would then be SACKED again by Bert Dailey...and lost the ball once more! the ball was then recovered by Juuta Siutinnuaq barely at the ramblers doorstep! With 22 second left to halftime, Seems that Fargo decided to play it safe and would then kick a field goal to push their lead to 27-21 Fargo. The half would end as the Ramblers certainly would want to have that last possesion back. At Halftime, 27-21 Fargo.
Third quarter begins. Artemis Milano takes it for 36 yard on the kickoff but no results. After several penalties on fargo that made them go 1st and 30 on their own 13 yard line, Carson would try to go to Nash Pony but then was PICKED OFF again! This time by Derrick overton. A second interception in the game, as the Ramblers thought would only get 3 points from this on a 20 yard Curtis Pike field goal. 27-24 Fargo.
Next possesion we see a undisciplined Fargo taking more penalties again that push them back and dosent allow them to do much. After a couple of possesions from both, Fargo in their zone will try to move as Efren Frank rushes...but FUMBLES as he gets tackled! Alexander McIntosh takes it back for the ramblers as Fargo makes another costly turnover!! It didnt took much from them as later Calder connect to Artemis Milano for 31 yards for the Ramblers touchdown! 31-27 Ramblers! Back in the lead! The crowd goes crazy!
As Wisniewski would get it out for Fargo for 34 yards on the next kickoff it will be the only good thing from the quarter as Carson was sacked and there lenghty late quarter push went nowhere. One more quarter left on this crazy game! After the third Quarter, 31-27 Ramblers.
Final Quarter, who will end up on top of this crazy Conference Championship? After a a failed possesion from Texas, Carson would connect to Nelson for 30 yards, getting into Texas territory. Then Carson and Nelson, worked in duo to push further into the Texas Redzone as at 7:39 of the fourth on a 3rd and goal, Adam Nelson would punch it in for a touchdown! 34-31 Fargo, they take back the lead! Will Ramblers respond?
After a failed possesion, Texas gave it back to Fargo and process to move again into Texas territory. 3:57 of the fourth, 4th and 5 for Fargo on Texas 38 yard line. The Axemen decided to go for it. Carson took the snap...looking...looking, she scrambled to try to evade the pursuit of Jamarcus Triper...but gets SACKED! Triper got Carson down as the Axemen turn it over! Will this be the turning point?
Texas takes the ball again, 3:21 to go. 5 yards pass to Kenney...9 yards rush by Curran...pass to Jackie Knight for 10 yards...then Palanturas for 13 yards..Andrew Calder marching in into Fargo zone, the Axemen Defensive front is exhausted as the ramblers took all their timeouts..48 second left, first and goal on Fargo 1. Goaline stand for Fargo..Calder takes the snap, backs up, fling to Palanturas....TOUCHDOWN!!!! Calder completes the comeback! 38-34 Ramblers!
46 seconds. 46 second left for Christina Carson to continue this Fargo Axemen's season. First pass, she gets Arthus Christopher for 20 yards! Fargo on their 35 yard line as they take a timeout. 22 seconds left!! Snap to Carson...she looking...time going away...its all or nothing...they flings it
and William Lucas caught it! But he need to fine some room...he tries to break free...but stopped after only a 11 yard gain! GAME OVER! TEXAS WILL DEFEND THE TITLE AGAIN! Final score: 38-34 Texas. The ramblers are Continental Conference Champs!
