This idea is a direct continuation of my talk on low-tech renewable energy methods.

Biogas is a mix of methane and carbon dioxide (~60/40) produced by anaerobic decomposition of organic waste. To be useful in vehicles, it needs to be purged of impurities like hydrogen sulphide, concentrated in methane and compressed.
The system that I propose uses sequentially 1) steel wool to trap sulphides 2) a hydraulic trompe to extract carbon dioxide from the biogas and pre-compress the remaining methane 3) a water turbine to power a compressor 4) the flowing water to cool the compressed gas.
