It was hard to resist, the glimmer of a coin in the dark cavern becoming my focus. I don't know when or how I got separated from the others, but curiosity overwhelmed any sense of fear I had. The almost radiant sliver of wealth lying in the center of my path, almost tempting me to pick it up. I wanted to, I needed to. I expected the metal to cold to the touch, but instead it was hot, almost burning hot. Except, I wouldn't let go, my growing avarice wouldn't let me. It was mine.
IT WAS MINE!
The heat traveled into me, almost as if a fire was alighted inside. I began to feel strange, powerful... My body was growing, lustrous scales overtaking my dull fur. A dissonance began to form fast, part of me loved what was happening, the old me falling into the new, strong dragon. However, part of me realized something was wrong, a nagging feeling that this situation wasn't right. Then an epiphany, I looked at that lustrous coin, its very glow flowing into me. It was not enough, I needed more. What was a dragon without a hoard? And I'll build it, one coin at a time...
