02-08-20 [Well Built Nodl!]
Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well as I slept I woke up a lot with a super dry nasal passage...I really need to get a humidifier. Anyway I had a dream I was traveling south from Murray when the rains got really bad and I saw a pair of tornadoes up ahead. I tried getting into the other lane to go north but there was a thick, 8 inch tall cement barrier. Nevertheless I did drive over it and parked at a gas station. When it was over I knew mum would be having troubles so I only texted her, and it turns out she forgot to bring the pets inside, as well as left the baby upstairs. Aunt Carol had checked on her and she had all these snacks poured onto a giant sheet of cardboard, and had labeled each one. I told them that since they seemed okay I was gonna continue my adventure. I drove off along a tall hill, but as I did I saw a train coming down the hill super fast. It didnt blare its horn and the guard arms didnt come down, and it wound up colliding with a train traveling toward me in the opposite lane. The first train simply barreled through unharmed, but the second drive off the rails and almost ran into me. I decided that between the tornadoes and almost being hit, I'd better just go back to my family. I didnt want to get there by riding my scooter down a drain pipe, since it was smol and I'd gain too much speed, so I headed down some precarious stairs. I almost caused a purse to fall down the hill, but saved it with my foot at the last second. There was a woman who got a new turtle while I was walking, and she was telling her pet duck to be nice to it.
I woke up a few times...Around 9:50, then around 11:30ish when my alarm went off, then around 12:20. I roused myself awake and grabbed a shower, then before heading out and about I helped mum move a couple wheelbarrow loads of logs onto the porch. The old wheelbarrow has a super sticky wheel, and I think it needs to be fixed. Still usable, but could be better!
After helping I got ready and headed to Benton. En route I called grandma, who said that not much was happening. She did say that Paul was let go from his job (supposedly a real nasty woman came in and restructured things...Hopefully he can get sorted) and Marty was rushing to try and finish his house (the one he was renting was sold, so he's got a month-long window where he needs to find a place) and Tom is starting to sell his wares at crafts shows. While chatting I got to Wendy's and parked and chatted, then when we finished roughly 19 minutes after, I went through the drive-thru and got 3 Junior Cheeseburger Deluxes with a large conke. They thought I said Diet conke, but nope! Normal conke. I paid and ate in the parking lot, then when I finished I headed to Walmart to get my oil changed!
It took a while for them to get to me, and while I waited there they worked on this tire with a really noisy machine. A worker pulled a car inside then helped me, but then had to go find a scanner device. A gal worker showed up with one, and she helped me get sorted, but said that it would take like an hour and forty five minutes. I said that was my fault for waiting until Sunday, which freaked her out at first...Turns out, oh yeah, it's actually Saturday!
After giving my keys I decided to meander around the store while sucking down my Conke. I went to the planp section, then the electronics, then up front to go bathroom, then while heading to the stationary section...Holy crap! Kendra!
Kendra and I used to be BF and GF, but I will admit I was not a good BF. We dated in college, which was not a good time for me, because I was suffering from all sorts of mental issues. We caught up on our lives (she's since married) and all the while she had to pull inventory from shelves. After a bit of chatting, sometime around the hygiene aisle, she said that it was good talking to me, and I took that as a hint that I was distracting her from her job. I headed to the stationary aisle and got some mechanical pencils and a notebook, as well as some clock-themed buttons for geocache stuffers.
After paying I went back to the auto waiting area, and as soon as I sat down they called my name. Hecc, good timing on my part! I paid for the oil change, then headed out!
I drove until I got to a small backroad off the main one that connects Benton and Draffenville. The road was one I'd often seen and never went down, so it was neat to see what adventures lie at the end...After all, there was a new geocache! Truthfully most of the houses were abandoned, collapsing, or both. Much of the old yards were flooded, and the one house that did look inhabited was soooo filled with junk in the yards/sheds, but the place looked peaceful enough. The geocache was in a smol glass jar with camo tape around it and hidden in a guard rail. I grabbed a dice with pics on it (pinecone, tent, lipstick, boy with goggles, racecar, hotdog), put a clock button in, and headed to the next new cache.
This one was located at a fairly new business called 'Farm to Fork', which sells fresh butchered meat that's super tasty. I checked the satellite maps, but Google hasn't updated the area in a while and doesn't show the cabin yet. Nevertheless I was able to hone in on the cache, which was located on the porch beneath a hollowed log inside a tupperware container. This one was named after a guy whose nickname was 'Papa', who used to geocache in the area but sadly passed in August. I put 3 buttons in this one and grabbed a statue of a raccoon dressed as a witch, then headed home. I dd park in my BFF's driveway and texted him, but he was at the movies and wouldn't be home until later, so I went home as well.
When I got there I went downstairs and spent a bit of time typing. I wanted to get a bit of productivity done, and in addition to typing a bit I applied for some jobs in the area, but while doing so I put on a tube about Kent Castle and because they were using a British accent, I took a nodl nap.
I woke up at 9:33, and saw that my BFF texted me at 9:27 saying he was home. I told him I needed to eat, then would head over. I went upstairs and dad was already asleep in his bed. I made 2 burritos which I ate while browsing 4chan, then headed over to my BFF's a little before 10. When I got there I noticed the kids weren't there (they were at Kristen's mum's), and we watched the end of the Lakers/Golden State basketbol game, and tho being close, the guys dressed like Crown Royal bottles won!
After that we watched some episodes of Letterkenny, which is kinda like a live action King of the Hill that takes place in rural Canada. We saw the episode where some Mennonites were looking for their daughter, and the one where the four main characters participated in an annual festival where you had to take 100 shots of beer in 100 minutes.
After those episodes I headed home, getting there just before 12. I went downstairs and then did a quick commission, then did a bit of typing. I wound up staying up until about 5:30 AM.
I hope everyone has a closure-having kinda day! <333
