Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well I had a dream that I was renting a house in Murray with some other guys and the Corona Virus was sweeping through...But it was far worse than any of us had thought. The house was kinda like the one Jesse lives in, but just a bit different and the area was a bit different as well. I told the people I was with that we couldn't go outside anymore, and we spent some time boarding up windows. I went outside to try and get something from my car at one point, but the roads out front were filled with multiple cars that were just parked. Many of them were covered in small, round, yellow stickers that said 'Quarantine'. Before I could get the thing from the car, I grew too worried about the conditions out there and rushed back inside. We spent time in the basement trying to secure a weird vent/window thing, and had to stuff some plastic into the openings and use wood to nail the stuff in really weird ways. The guys I was with (One of whom was my old housemate Jason G. ) wanted to go outside and smonk some cigs, and I told them to just do it inside...I'd clean up the smell after everything passed so the landlord didn't know.
I woke up in a bit of a panic, happy to know that the virus hasn't hit yet. I wound up going back to sleep and woke up around 7:38. I nodded back off a few times, hit snooze on my alarm when it went off at 8ish, and then browsed on my phone until about 8:20ish. I got ready for the day, put on some nice duds, and headed out. Dad was upstairs trying to repair a lugar, 'cause apparently Jerry accidentally put the clip in backwards when they were shooting on Heineken Day (Don't worry, they did that before beers). He asked me to take a couple trash bags down to the dumpster down the hill in the resort...It's supposed to be for the local HOA only, but we used it a lot in the past...Sneaky!
I drove down there and quickly threw the stuff away, then headed to Murray. The trash left a bit of a lingering smell, so I took the jelly freshener I had and squeezed it a couple times in the back. When I was turning onto Hiter Road (Not Hitler...Hiter), I almost turned into a car that was right in my blind spot...I didn't almost hit them, but got closer than I would have. Around Hardin I called grandma, and she told me that she was wishing me luck, was getting her eyes checked on Friday (Had to put off the appointment 'cause grandpa died), and on Saturday Dawn was gonna come visit her! She'd quit working for grandma, but still keeps in touch...I told her to give me a hug from me!
I finished chatting with her when I got to the first hotel in Murray, which is a Marriot that has some pretty garish colors. I filled out an application and as I was, the gal beside me was getting interviewed by the hotel's manager (or someone of higher authority). I turned in the application and got my chance to chat with the manager lady (Ms. Weathers), and I told her that I was seeking a desk position. She said they would be hiring soon, and she interviewed me, and I could tell was pretty impressed! She said they'd interview me on Wednesday (or next wednesday...I forgot which one), and I could speak to her manager.
From there I drove to the hotel next door, but they said they were not hiring. I drove to the other end of town and stopped at a little inn, but they said they were only hiring housekeepers. Eh, good enough on the application front, so I went to the flea market.
This flea market was always a fun stop for me, and I used to go there with my frand Erik, and we'd look for old books. While I was there I was looking for some bug-in supplies for potential pandemic panic, and I did grab some super glue, but I also got a ziplock bag of old military patches and pins for $10, and also an old school-journal with 4 entries for like $2 and a teacher's guide for $4. I paid and tried to go to the Mexican Restaurant Lance and I used to go to on the corner of Sycamore and 4th, but it had been converted int a Murray's Kitchen...Probably it was a delicious restaurant, but eh, not the same.
I drove down Sycamore and took in the sights of the old street...There was a new seafoam-green color house near where I used to live, and the old place I used to rent was still there and looked pretty nice. I drove down Court Square, then turned onto a street heading back toward 4th...I turned left when I saw a dump truck up ahead.
I decided to go to Arby's, where I got 3 buffalo sliders and 2 chicken sliders with a large conke, which I ate in the Walmart parking lot. I did notice the old Richmond Dorm I lived in had been destroyed to make way for a new dorm...So many chages!
But I did eat the food and then went shopping. My frand Erik was there, and we chatted a bit about seeds, growing food, and the potential virus that's heading our way. He had to help a customer, and I went shopping all around the store for things like Duct Tape and bleach pills and a couple 20 pound bags of rice. I waited in the self check-out line and chatted with this older gentleman, who I let go in front of me since he was just buying a pair of loafers. I followed him and that was probably for the best, since I had to help him figure out the machine...Technology, amirite?
...But then I started scanning my stuff after he left and after getting ¾ of the way through the machine turned off. The lady working the area gave me a bit of grief about breaking her machine, but said that unfortunately I needed to scan it again on another machine. I told her that if that's the worst thing to happen to me all day, it was a good day! I scanned my stuff then carted it out to the car and headed out.
I stopped at the Cellar Door, but Wes and Jesse and Dan and Jim weren't working. I did grab a big bottle of American Honey and then headed home. I stopped at Fast Eddy's for gas, trying not to think about the fact I spent like $400 over the past 2 days. Yikes!
I headed home and mum and dad were not there. I changed my clothes and called mum, and she and dad arrived right as I got my shorts and t-shirt on. We sat on the porch and I told them of my day, and they said they'd headed to the lake to put the PVC framing the garden in the borrow-pile behind the concrete slab and had gone and filled up wood at the houseboat. We did change the lights around the tree in the center island of the driveway (The tree looks like it could either live or die, since one side was looking kinda rotten...We scrapped it clean and are hoping it survives), then sat outside a bit more before heading inside. I went downstairs to use the bathroom, then after I walked up to the houseboat area to try and figure out what chemical was in the white containers that came in the metal frames we use for log storage. I did see a bunch of stickers, but the relevant ones seemed to have been scraped off. I did get a portion of sticker reading 'pegante adhesivo', so I'm assuming the chemical is an adhesive.
Not finding anything else, I headed home and spent some time typing. After I finished that last sentence, I went upstairs and made a plate of spaghet. I also tried some of these chips that Kathy brought down from Cincinnati (Kathy was at the birthday, and is Carol's frand). They were BBQ because she thought mum wanted chips, but actually she wanted the pretzels. I ate one and they were really spicy, and super yum!
After I ate the spaghet (yum yum!) I had 2 brownies, then went downstairs. I spent time watching tubes before passing out, then when I woke up I played some KoL (It was my anniversary on there! Yey!) and then I doodled a commission while watching a bunch of Disney songs (Because there was an episode of Duckman where he tells the story of how he fell in love with his wife, and the background music sounded straight-up like it was a slightly off version of the 'Tales as Old as Time' from Beauty and the Beast.). The commission took a while, but I was pretty happy with how the shading looked! After that I practiced drawing a lizard in my style! I then draw a quick blob pic. I wound up staying up until almost 5 AM because I just couldn't stop doing internet stuff.
I hope everyone has a hotel-applying day! <333
